summer centerpieces

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for small centerpieces (For Cocktail hour) preferably without flowers

For CH, we're putting votives on each table with scattered rose petals...and each table will have a framed picture (or two - and nothing larger than a 5x7) of different family members and friends on their wedding day.

We wanted something simple - the tables are small for CH - and something personal that would make for a good conversation piece.

CH centerpieces are a nice touch, but they're not necesary. We opted not to get them because our hall is on the beach and we figured that was nicer looking than anything we may put on the tables. Plus our CH tables are a little small and we wanted people to have plenty of room to eat. I really like the idea of putting frames as the CP though. Another suggestion would be to have plastic sand box buckets with pails. I think that would be very sweet.

I think it is up to you if you want them - i am only doing it because it is part of theme - four seasons and the coctail hour is summer - a lot of halls give you candles- so adding them with petals is good

I got clear votive holders from the dollar store kinda of like a bubble bowl fill them with a little sand, and some tiny shells and then placed a votive into the sand they are really cute and cheap too
