Sunday ladies

Original post by MrsHazel2B

I'm having a shocker here...why am I suddenly contemplating a Sunday wedding? People have to work on Monday and who can happily drink on Sundays?? Am I alone here?

Re: Sunday ladies

my wedding is on a Sunday. Not only is it cheaper, but i want people to actually remember this day. I dont want everyone getting crazy drunk and not remember what they are doing or what they did.

whoever wants to go will go to your wedding no matter what day. and if they dont want to go to work the next day, they can call in sick or as the day off--how many times do they do that for other things? LOL

i dont know, its my thought.....

:) This is tough..I dont know if you remember, but I was back and forth between Friday night (people have work Friday day and would have to rush to get there)..Saturday day (I didnt want my wedding to be rushed) and Sunday night (people have work next day). It was VERY tough..and if you recall one of the LIWERS told me I will never be able to please everyone, and boy were they right! everyone ALWAYS has a comment..

we went with memorial day Sunday night! This way people have Fri and Saturday to prepare HA and Monday to recover! I mean then I heard that people go away, so you cant please everyone..but im satisifed!

I tried to suite everyone..I couldnt..so i made the majortiy happy without rushing my wedding (i felt sat day would feel rushed IMO).

Everyone has a diff opinion of whats best! so go with what you think!

Of course I remember, this is partly your fault!

This helps. You're the third person who just went to a Sunday wedding and said they didn't mind the day or time. Thanks!

Re: Sunday ladies

I chose sunday for a few reasons, to me it was ridiculous to pay 20-40$ more pp just for sat, so that leaves fri and sun. Right before it was time to decide I attended two weddings one friday and one sunday ( i wasn't personally working at the time) but I noticed that the wedding held on friday, i imagine due to work people were not as dressed up or relaxed as they were on sunday, on sunday people looked is if they had taken more time to get ready, a lot of girls had their hair curled or done nicely, people just looked overall neater and more relaxed, and thats when i realized a lot of people rush home on friday put on a dress touch up their makeup and go, where as sunday you have all day to get ready. So I really liked the idea of sunday after that. Also while its true many people have work in the morning ending at 11:30 is not that late, and many people like the excuse to take a day off I've found. In my case i've found most of my close freinds and family will be taking off and the others will come for as long as they can and thats fine because I probably wont miss them if they leave an hour early, everyone important to me has not expressed any issues and has welcomed an excuse to take off!

You girls don't know how helpful this has been to me...I've talked about this with my BMs (and, they've read your posts! ) and I just feel like Sunday would be such a nice day to get married! Now, i need a three day weekend!!

This is definitely why I decided on a Sunday wedding as well. I also agree that if anyone is going to not show bc they have work the next day they are probably not that close to you anyway and it will not make a big difference - My dad already has said he is going to take off 2 days before the wedding and then i think the 2 days after and then take off when we are going to be flying back into NY after our honeymoon to get us at the airport hahaha

So why did I call CB yesterday to ask about the difference in price from Friday to Sunday. The dam 2012 prices are in effect as of 2 weeks ago. They went from an August Friday night price of $80pp to $87pp. In May, it's more and the memorial day Sunday is at $95pp !!

Edited for angry misspells!!

Well, I must be the only pain in the butt who's doing a Thursday wedding! I honestly just tell everyone (including my FH's MOTHER) that we are paying for the wedding ourselves and if you want to be there... then you'll just have a 3 day weekend to enjoy. It's also in the middle of the summer (July) at night so it's vacation time and traffic should be at a minimum.

Either way.. people are going to take the next day off to recover and only the people that want to be there will be there. So, just enjoy yourself and have a Sunday wedding if that's what you want!

A lot of Westbury Manor brides get married on Thurs. b/c it's such a dramatic decrease in price. You're not the only one! lol

FH and i are paying for the wedding as well so we decided to do Thurs b/c it was so much cheaper! i was worried at first about people not coming to church and/or leaving reception early...but ours is the thurs of memorial day weekend so some people have off fri and almost every1 has off monday so people may take off work fri and the your right, FutureWifey, the people who want to be there will be there!

Re: Sunday ladies

im having my wedding on a sunday. i think its very traditional and i like it better than a friday night thats my opinion plus your more likely to have more people at your ceremony on a sunday then on a friday when most are still stuck at work. :)
