Well, I'm a bit late today, I just woke up about an hour ago. Ooops. The stress of dealing with 11 women confined in a small room yesterday must have taken a lot out of me.
So what, if anything, have you had to compromise with your wedding? Either something that you didn't want that you MUST have or do, either from family pressure or FH, or something that YOU really wanted, but just simply couldn't afford.
For me, the biggest compromise is having children at the wedding. Warm and fuzzy, I am not. But FILs are paying a good portion of the RH cost, so unfortunately I am not in the position to dictate the guest list. It just bothers me a lot that FMIL is insisting that she has to invite her cousin's children, so like third and fourth cousins to FH, most of whom he hasn't seen in 10-15 years, and there's quite a few 'Have I even met this guy???' being thrown about. It's gotten to the ridiculous point that my father isn't even inviting his own first cousins, who are adults, because so many invite slots had to be given to children. It pisses me off, because I'm the bride, and it's like I'm only allowed to have 20 people I actually know at my own wedding.
Other than the children, other compromises have been minimal, and won't affect the guests, just I'm sure as the planning progresses my RH will make many DIY and personal touches difficult for me, since they don't seem to allow ANYTHING. But, that was the compromise of having good food and a pretty location...as long as the guests have a good meal and a pleasant atmosphere, we were willing to put up with some grief.
So, vent away!

We are the same way. Everything we have compromised on has been small. FH and I have been on the same page when it comes to the big things. Thanks goodness nothing big has come up....knock on wood
