Sunday Wedding?

I wanted a Sunday afternoon but the venue i choose has its own event every year on that day due to it being a hoilday (Easter). I choose Easter sunday because many people have/take the following day off either way. i say if your really concerned you can always choose a day before a hoilday even if its a weekday (better pricing than any weekend day).

I would have done an afternoon or a Sunday wedding if we didn't have family coming in from out of state. The people who want to be there are going to be there regardless of what day it is, I wouldn't stress about it!

I think it depends on your guest list....out of state guests I think a SUnday wedding would be a problem...otherwise DON'T WORRY!

I do have some out of town guests, but most are here on the island. We will be doing a Sunday evening and I figure if they loved us they would show up regardless!

I think plenty of people will come! I would do what you want, when you want and the ones who truly love and care about you WILL show.

I have been to Sunday weddings and they were full of people. If they are important to you they would show up whether it was a Friday, Saturday or Sunday so don't stress that at all.....we have enough other thing to stress about : )

Personally I wouldn't have one. That being said, it wouldn't stop me from going to one.

I had my wedding on a Sunday and almost everyone invited came and had a great time. No one once complained about when it was. With my loud mouth of a family I defiantly would have heard something. The people who are meant to be there will be there. Don't think about it too much!

I'm doing a Sunday afternoon, mostly because we are Jewish and getting married by a rabbi, and he wouldn't be able to travel Friday or Saturday. I know some people are going to give me crap for it, but if they don't want to come, or have a problem with it, it's their loss.

People take off from work for less than a wedding, I'm sure the people who love you won't mind taking off that Monday if they feel they need to.

I've been to a sunday wedding before. The wedding ceremony started at 4, and cocktail hour and reception started at 4:30 and was over by 9:30. It wasn't too late as I did have work the next day and usually go to bed by 10:30. I didn't drink however as I knew that I wouldn't wake up the next day!!! Its all a personal choice of when you want your wedding and guests that love you are there!

We are doing a Sunday wedding from 1-8:30 I think the daytime is ideal-not too early and not too late. As far as guests coming I think it shouldn't matter. I've gone to Thursday weddings and it's the same. Friday weddings I have had to leave work early. People will be there regardless

I had a Sunday wedding and it was packed, so don't worry. My one piece of advice, though, is to delay the cake cutting as long as possible in the evening. For whatever reason, some people seem to leave weddings after the cake (especially if they have to get up the next day), so to keep the party going, try to do it as late in the reception as you can. Have fun!!!

im having a sunday wedding, its the sunday before columbus day so everyone has off, but we were first going to go with the 10/19/14 date. we ended up going with the 10/12/14 because the only family members who are here on LI are my parents, the rest are in CT, upstate and FL so we needed to accommodate everyone traveling with kids. if most of your guests are here, though, you'll be fine, they'll be there no matter what!

one of my BMs got married on a sunday AM. I was a BM for her and we had to get up at 5 am! my sister had to fly back to SC the next day (ok she actually ended up paying $200 to switch her flight & missing a class bc she went back late) .

bottom line- everyone came!

First of all I hate when people say, 'if they really love you, they'll be there'. People do have prior engagements and responsibilities that they can't just get over because you decide to have your wedding on a Sunday or weekday. It doesn't mean they love you any less than those who CAN make it.

No matter when you have your wedding, SOMEONE is going to be inconvenienced. Just do what's best for you and FH and what's affordable for your pocket. A Sunday wedding is fine.
