Supplies for breast feeding?
I want to be prepared with the essentials of what I will need for breast feeding after the baby is born, but I dont want to spent too much in case it doesnt work out. What will I need to have to get through the first 2 weeks till I can get to a store? Also how much larger did you buy nursing bras? Thanks!

Re: Supplies for breast feeding?
I didnt buy nursing bras, I found them too annoying to clip, snap etc. I wore VS bras the whole time. Breast pads for when you leak. A manual pump or inexpensive electric pump to get rid of the possible engorgement, or you could hand express. Lanoline for your nips when they hurt from not latching on properly in the beginning. A phone # for LLL or your hospital LC for any questions you may have.

Re: Supplies for breast feeding?
I got all of my supplies online, Leche ConnectionI got a Pump In Style Advance before Molly was born because I knew I would be going back to work. You should not use a hand pump if you plan on going back to work. I am glad I invested in it..part of the reason I keep pumping!
I loved nursing bras and got (4) online and liked them over my regular bras for pumping so often. I would get one to start and see how you like it.
I never once needed nursing pads. I needed the cream...but after a while I just used plain olive oil before pumping.
And I second Karen's suggestion: Have the # of an LC with you at the hospital and on your frig at home.
Oh, also A Nursing Mother's Companion Guide is essential IMO.

I would recommend picking up cream, nursing pads and at least one soft nursing bra-without an underwire for you to sleep in. Bring the cream to the hospital with you as your nipples might crack in the first couple of days.Welcome New Vendors
