I have to get my upper wisdon teeth out on thursday and I am not looking forward to it. The last time the pain afterward was so bad!

Re: Surgery on Wisdon teeth...argh!
I had all four of mine out....and I don't really remember feeling much pain. The bottom to I had to be put to sleep because they were inpacted....but for the top two they gave me that lauging gas and it was the best....I could have stayed there all day breathing that stuff in. I kept telling the doctor to make it higher. I think he thought I was nuts

Re: Surgery on Wisdon teeth...argh!
So far I have had to have 1 out, and the other one I think is going to have to be taken out also. I had the lower left one out, it cracked and exposed a nerve! The pain I had with that was horrible. I was so scared in the dentists chair, that I was practically crying from nerves and also from the pain of the exposed nerve. I was begging for Novacaine! I also got laughing gas and remember telling him that he needs to turn it up, but I was pretty mellow from it. My top right wisdom tooth I am going to have to get out, it keeps chipping, and the dentists does not seem too alarmed by it, however that was before I had dental insurance. I am about to be getting on dental insurance and I am sure he is going to pull what is left of it. YIKES! I did not feel too much pain after the first one was out, just felt weird the first few days and occasionally felt a twinge for about a few weeks after that. I remember going to my friends daughters 1st birthday party a few days later and eating the kids food becuase it was mushy.

Get knocked out for this! If you have a good surgeon, he can get your insurance to cover it in most cases. And even if he cant, its worth not having to hear him working on your mouth!
I had this done last year. In the next room there was a women having her teeth out with novacaine alone and she was in agony (from the pressure and the psycological effects, not actual pain b/c she was numb).

Re: Surgery on Wisdon teeth...argh!
I've had all of my wisdom teeth out - I've been awake with novacaine (do NOT do this!!), I've been knocked out, and I've had laughing gas. Being knocked out is by far the best way to go, but the laughing gas wasn't so bad either. Good luck!
I've had all 4 out as well...and I will agree DO NOT stay awake...It was horrible to stay awake and get it done...meanwhile the 2 I had asleep were done on sat and I was at work on monday...
other than that: GET A FRIBBLE from Friendly's afterwards...this was from the nurse and it was so fabulous going down...the cool helps so much!!
LOTS and LOTS of applesauce...get the chunky style so you can have some substance...you can just swallow the chunks
NO RICE!! they will get stuck in the pockets!!!
make everyone wait on you hand and foot!!! it is minor surgery!!
good luck!!!

I took all four out at the same time and looked like a chipmunk for a week.

I got all mine out at the same time too. I swelled up. But it was okay. I ate ice cream for a week straight and lost 10 lbs!!! Now that's a diet I like!

Great, we were just talking about this at work, one if mine has been coming in, and I don't like the idea of having to get it taken out
Can you kepp them in, or do they all have to be removed?
