So ... my mom and bridal party are starting the planning for my bridal shower. I do not want to know any of the details, but they did ask if I wanted to know of the date. Do I let them (try to) surprise me or do I just know the date? My sister lives out of state so obviously when she comes down I will have an idea.
HELP!

Re: Surprise ... or not
it's totally up to you ...
i didn't want to be surprised so i asked to know the date ... that way i could be ready in my dress when i walk in ... plus, i didn't want to stress out my family & friends about not telling me about it

Re: Surprise ... or not
I was completely surprised for mine. My mother, MIL and BP did a wonderful job of throwing me off, and I'm so happy they did. The pics of my reaction are priceless.

Re: Surprise ... or not
I know the date of mine since I live OOS, but I don't know any other details, so its basically still a surprise! I like it that way because I will know to look nice, but I will be surprised by the location and decorations and stuff!

Re: Surprise ... or not
go for the surprise
i was torn at first, but there arent many opportunities in life for a surprise party so you might as well go for it!
just get a dress in advance and give it to your mother to hold on to so the day of she will bring it to shower for you to wear

Re: Surprise ... or not
I say SURPRISE!!!
If you are worried over your outfit, just have one all ready and give it to your Mom in advance to have at the place for the Bridal shower and do a quick change!

Even if they try to make it a surprise almost EVERYONE figures it out and pretends to be surprised anyway!

SURPRISE!!!
Not knowing the date is half the fun! I mean I *knew* I was having a shower (obvi) but the anticipation was so much fun!

And nevermind not totally knowing...but kinda playing the guessing game is fun too! Your sis may get creative and throw you for a loop with her visit!

Re: Surprise ... or not
I was the opposite I wanted to know the details...as a matter of fact I gave my BP a list of certain thing I'd like but I did not want to know my date. Unfortunately there were a couple of loud mouths so I ened up having an idea when it was coming.
If I were you, go for the total surprise cause we don't get to many of those if life and enjoy!!!

Re: Surprise ... or not
My mother isn't giving me the option of being surprised b/c she said I always figure everything out anyway.

Re: Surprise ... or not
No surprise here at all and I hate that I know. Part of it got screwed up when my mom got sick. Earlier in the week I told her to cancel it but I'm over it.
