I'm wondering how many of you knew FH was going to propose before he did.
A friend of mine told me yesterday that she was looking through FH's email ( which I think is totally wrong) and found an email to his parents discussing the engagement ring, how much it was, photos of it ect. She knew he was thinking about proposing but they didn't go looking at rings and he wanted to make it a surprise. I think she totally ruined his plan. They haven't been dating all that long and she told him about 3 months ago that she wanted to wait. I'm not sure if she's excited or just anxious now that she knows its going to happen.

i was surprised. We looked at rings but i told him to wait b/c we were in the process of buying a house. A couple of weeks later he proposed..

Ok, well mines a tuff one.. You see my Fh mother wanted to pass her orignal engagment ring on to me n her son. But he was worried that i wouldnt want it b.c it was his mothes n its not 'new' So he stressed it for like 5 months then finally one day at dinner his mother just came out and asked me, Ofcause i was honored (she has 2 of her own daughters) that she wanted to give it to me and i didnt mind that it wasnt :new: like he thought, i was actually very happy i mean it has history and meaning behind it. So i had knew he was thinkign about it, I just didnt know when or how.
Needless to say about a month or two after that he asked me.. But he ended up just using the dimond from his mothers ring and he picked out a new setting so its got love from both of them i feel :)

I knew...sometimes I wish I didn't, but I couldn't help it. I'm way to analytical, so I just simply deduced where he would do it. It was the place that makes the most sense for us, so when we got in the car to go to Avalon that day, I was certain.
If he was a jerk, he would have taken me there, not proposed, and done it later in the day somewhere else, which he was debating as well apparently, but knows me too well and decided (wisely) against it.

I knew ... we went shopping together for the ring ... I did not know the price of it at the time ..... but I fell in love with it ..and FH wanted me to get what I wanted .... at first I wanted the princess cut ..but in the end I got a round one ..... I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! but when he proposed I was surprised and cried my eyes out !!!!!!!!!! He is the best !!!!!

i had an inkling he was gonna pop the question on an upcoming cruise, but instead he decided to do it like a week before it for various reasons... so i knew, but was totally shocked at the moment

FH and I went looking at rings one day and he wound up buying it....I wish I hadn't known...so I knew it was coming sometime in the near future but I didn't know when....he waited about a month and a half....I pretty much knew what he was doing (but I tell him I had no idea ) I think he would be really upset if I told him I knew.....God I love him sooo much he is soooo cute

I knew it was coming sometime in the near future because we had discussed it, but it was sooner than I expected- i was surprised the day he did it.
same here but i knew it was coming but i thought it would be for christmas not our anniversary !!! it was an awesome surprise !!!

I knew it was going to happen I just did not know exactly when- Sometimes I wish it had been a total surprise.

I wasn't that suprised because he had asked me my ring size a week or so before. Buttttt, that being said he tricked me into thinking he wasn't going to the night he actually did (Valentine's Day).

Our 2 year anniversary was coming up and he was graduating from school in December so I kind of had an idea but I really knew on Thanksgiving night. I had gone to bed early and woke up a little when he climbed in bed. Well he tied dental floss around my ring finger while I was sleeping to get my ring size. Is that not adorable? The funny thing was that a few days before that I was reading one of his men's magazines and one of the articles was how NOT to propose and they said that tying string around the finger was not a good way to get ring size. But I don't wear rings so he had no other choice.
