Survey:How much does FH help around House/Apt?

Just a survey ladies to find out how much DH or FH helps you with household duties: cleaning, cooking, errands, etc. 2. If he works nights/days 3. If he's cool with it or complains to no end. 4. If YOU have to beg him to get it done.

Cooks cleans and goes food shopping. I just can't get him to hang the shelves that I bought a month ago! Other than that I cannot complain about Frankie

Couldn't get him off the couch unless the house caught fire...I don't mind though. Nowever, he is a great cook, and if I ask him to make dinner, he is more than willing to do that.

The only time he will help is when I start to get angry because no one is helping me. But usually it is all on me to do cooking and cleaning.

Matt does all the fixing and renovating. He also takes care of the yard, boats, and cars. I do all the cooking and cleaning. He will go to Bj's and shop for us too! I kind of like our arrangement!

He cooks, does laundry, grocery shopping and cleans the bathroom (occasionally). I do the rest.

He used to complain about it but now I've broken him in!

he cooks occasionally and has cleaning spurts - but otherwise - that's a sore topic for us

Only does something when I ask him to....GRRRRRRRR....it makes me so mad sometimes. But when I ask he does it and doesnt complain. I do errands most of the time and food shopping but we do share the cooking.

I blame his mother!!!!!!!!! She did EVERYTHING for him.

Chloegirl, I hear you on blaming the mom! My DH will cook because he likes to and does help out sometimes. But I had to teach him how to do laundry when I met him, he was 19 years old!! I had been doing my own laundry for a long time and couldn't believe that he never did his. His mother did everything, and I mean everything for him. That's what you get for marrying the youngest and only boy in an Italian family.

Chloegirl & Starhead - I am totally with you. My husband's mother did everything for her sons and husband. I do allthe cleaning, cook, laundry and food shopping. Maybe I'm a bit of a control freak about things but he hardly helps out.

FH does everything possible.
He cooks, irons my clothes and brings me drinks.

My job is organization and direction. We both clean up but it's usually me who says 'Ok, its Sunday.. this, this and this should be done before the game'

Cooking and kitchen cleaning is pretty dual or shared. So it's fairly equal with us on most stuff.

I married 'Felix Unger' he is very good at doing everything!! the only thing he doesn't do is COOK, that's my job and I enjoy doing it.

my mom does everything for my brother, father and I. we are such lazy lazy loafs its the worst.
i feel horrible sometimes. I think Im the only one that actually helps out though. well helping out in a way that I am self sufficient , I do all my own cleaning, laundry, garbage, and cooking (sometimes) my moms is a good cook. so when palebride and I move in together I hope I know what to do. she may have some housebreaking to do

He cooks and washes dishes every other night most of the time and we go grocery shopping together. I do the other duties. I must say he does keep his stuff neat and tidey though so I shouldnt complain.

My FH does most of the laundry (and he is the BEST folder!), and straightens up here and there. He'll do anything I need, just have to ask him!

Wow, this is an awesome day for this post to pop up. Just a quick story to illustrate how helpful Patrick is...

I'm currently 8 months pregnant, and I went from almost not showing a bit to being the size of a small country in about 2 weeks time. I feel huge, and haven't had a chance to adjust to my size, PLUS, I lost my grandmother last week, which was devastating, AND 3/4 of my house is under MAJOR, messy construction. Because of those factors, I have fallen WAY behind in all of my household chores (I take care of the day to day straightening and organizing since I'm home a lot more), and the more of a disaster my house became, the more depressed I became. I mentioned this to Patrick, and he said not to worry because we'd been so busy that it was no wonder the house was a mess, and that he'd help me clean everything from top to bottom this weekend.

WELL, I came home today to find an IMMACULATE house. EVERYTHING is done except the laundry (hey, he had to be at work by 3:00... ). I feel so much better, and it is WONDERFUL to relax in a clean house that I had no part in cleaning!
