Re: Sushi anyone
so jealous. Where is everyone's favorite sushi place? I am always looking to try somewhere new. My usual spot is Nanatori in Oakdale. They have 2 other locations- Valley Stream and Brooklyn.

Re: Sushi anyone
It was the hardest part about being pregnant for me too (worse than the alcohol)! You can have Califronia rolls, eel, anything with shrimp. I used to get a shrimp avocado roll and a spicy california roll when I was prego.

Love sushi, too. We love a lot of places, one in Bayside can't remember the name. Also like Jani, too! My dream is to go to Nobu.

I love it!!! We crave it all the time. Our favorite place to go is Shiki. They have two locations - Smithtown and Babylon.

Re: Sushi anyone
I went to Nobu a few years ago. If you do go, get the Omikasi (sp?). It means it is the choice of the chef. It is a seven course meal, but it is manageable for one person since the first few courses are only a few bites each. It cost $70 at the time, but I figured that I might as well splurge since I will probably never go back there. Although the sushi was good, I did not find it to be better in quality than my usual restaurant. The different things I got to try and the presentation were excellent. The service was great too! I remember tuna tartar was the first course and the desert was a bento box with some kind of chocolate cake.

Re: Sushi anyone
JR515 - you have to try them! Instead of wrapping the roll with seaweed, they use a thin slice of cucumber. Its wonderful. I think that 3 different varieties.
At our favorite sushi place here in SF, we asked them to make us a custom roll like that - we want to get it on their menu.
