Swan Club... Rants or Raves?

Swan Club... Rants or Raves?

I thought I was going to book my wedding venue yesterday... that was until my FH and I saw the Swan Club in Roslyn Harbor.

WOW! What a gorgeous place! It's even beautiful now with no leaves on the trees - they have a 7 acre garden.

If you have any info about this place, can you please share?

Thanks!

I looked at the Swan Club too. It is beautiful and I love how it is tucked in the beautiful residential area. Plus, I think their prices are great. I think you definetly get a great place for a reasonable price. Which room would you use?

Since we're having a small wedding (50 ppl) we were offered the 'after deck' room overlooking the gardens and ponds and the adjacent bar, which has a fireplace. It is SO nice! and their prices were phenomenal!

Take a look....

I thought the place was gorgeous and the prices were great, but I didn't find their menu impressive.

That's nice. I really like that bar for CH. My fiance liked the look of that bar too! Good luck. However, we're having a large wedding (200 people) so that room wasn't an option for us.

I liked, my FH was drooling. His side loves to drink. He took 1 look at the bar and the room overlooking the gardens and ponds and said this is it. For our budget, we're not going to do better that this place.

If we weren't saving for a house, we would go with a large wedding too

I thought it was absolutely gorgeous there. There grounds look fabulous year round as they plant seasonal flowers. What we didn't like was that we'd be cramped into a tiny little room for 100 people and that they have up to 3 weddings at a time. I've heard from people who have held parties there that you could hear other partie's music coming into yours. However, since you have such a small number of guests, you are probably dealing with smaller number of halls that can accomodate you as many that I visited required 100 people.

We had our reception there. It was AMAZING! Our expectations were exceeded by far! The service was great, food was outstanding, and it looked beautiful. Please FM me with any
questions...

I got married at the swan club. I was a little upset with some of the staff but I still had a great day. If you check out my review on the brides review you'll see what I mean. I didn't get the cake I wanted but the place is beautiful!

Ditto - it was chaotic when we visited and we could hear all three parties from the lobby. Granted, it was around 5 or 6 p.m. when the day parties were leaving and the evening parties were starting to arrive. The valet area was a mess.

I attended a wedding there too. It was really nice. My stepsister used the largest room - about 220 guests. She took all her pics on site. She paid $60 pp for a Sunday night in June - 18 months ago & a high guarantee though.

For the biggest room on a sat. in june we had a 165 guarantee not that bad. Yes you can hear some of the other music in the lobby but NOT in each others rooms NOT once did I hear it. They have the weddings start at different times so that you are not arriving or leaving at the same time.

I also had my reception there and loved it. I didn't hear music from the other rooms, and although there can be 3 events going on at once, one of the rooms has a seperate entrance with its own restrooms, so you really don't bump into as many other people from other weddings as you might at another hall.

I was in the Contessa room, and had the after deck room for my CH - it was a nice setup.

We went to a wedding there last year and we did not like it....The cocktail hour was outside and other bridal parties kept walking through to take their pictures down by the gazebo...plus there were about 4 other parties going on and we could hear their music in the reception...it is beautiful there though.

I loved the place it was beautiful...however...if you're getting married during daytime hours you may want to skip this place because people will want to walk the gardens during your reception - which takes away from people having fun w/you & dancing during this time.

I went to a wedding at swan club and a lot of guests spent most of their time outside :(

eta: yeah, there can be around 3-4 events at a time there...you can see other peoples guests outside your window

My wedding will be on 11/6/05, what did the grounds look like for your wedding in November? Was there a lot of foliage? I would LOVE to see some of your outdoor photos if you don't mind. You can FM me if you'd like Thanks!!

Well, considering that we started off by planning the reception in a private room of a restaurant (very tight budget), we're doing well. We can't justify spending 10's of thousands on a wedding when the avg. cost of a home on LI is $422K.

Well I am getting married there is July 2006...I was concerned about the 3 weddings at a time...but I have heard it isn't a problem. At first I had heard mixed things about the Swan Club but there are mixed things about every (just about) reception hall. If you like it go with it!
