Sweetwaters in Hauppauge

SWEETWATERS

Has anyone eaten here? I'm having some friends over tonight and I'm thinking of trying it, but it's on the pricey side so I'd like to get some reviews first.

Anyone ever eaten there?

I used to work near there and I would go there for lunch dates occasionally. The food has always been good, and its a nice environment.

The last time I was there they gave out soft hot pretzals instead of bread while waiting for your meal. that was a big plus for me.

Thanks guys. I'm between that and the 25 East Bistro that's in Danfords in Port Jeff.
These are friends of mine that just moved to NY from Tennessee and they don't know anything about Long Island...

25 East is more reasonably priced and the waterfront makes for nicer surroundings for people that have never experienced Long Island.

I've never been to Danfords either, so feel free to add your input if you've been there.

I'll definately try Sweetwaters with DH though!

I've been to both restaurants, and both are terrific, but Sweetwaters is my favorite because of their seafood fondue and their steaks.

ETA that these two restaurants are my top contenders for my baby's christening party, but I think we are going to go with Danford's because of the price quoted, being it will be a large party.

Yeah, I saw that seafood fondue on the menu and I'm all over it. I'll go just for that!

I'm going to make reservations at Danford's for tonight. The weather's nice and I think that my friends will prefer the surroundings of Port Jeff.

Sweetwaters is on for DH's and my next date night on Friday.

FH and I went there- not happy at all- overcooked food and expensive, also bad service. That was last year. My mom went with a friend and came home with the best spinach salad ever.
