SWR - baby making (RP)

who is going to TTC right away? FH and i are discussing it - we are kind of torn right now (finances, etc.). if you don't mind sharing, what are your 'plans'?

As the FH and I are technically on the younger side I suppose, we’re planning on waiting, probably at least five years. I think I need that much time to enjoy just being married, lol!

I am hoping to be pregnant w/ in our first year of marriage , but fh is in his mid 30's and me in my late 20's and we have lived together for 3 years already so I don't see why we should wait. For couples who are younger and who did not live together before marriage, I say give yourselves some time to enjoy the 2 of you and work out all the living together kinks before you add a baby

Well - we'll be 25 and 26 when we get married, and since I still haven't figured out what to do with my life, I don't think I should be responsible for anyone else! So probably not for about 5 years...

But for anyone who is older, more secure it makes a lot more sense!

We are!!! Right now the plan is to start in September or October the absolute latest.

We are going to wait 3-4 years. Even though we will be in our late 20's when we get married, I just don't think Im ready for little ones! I want to be completely financially stable so that I don't have to worry about anything, and I also want to enjoy just being married and travelling for a while.

We're planning to TTC after five years of marriage...we're very young so we want to make sure we're financially stable first and enjoy 5 solid years living alone together..

We will probably start trying next year (2008).

I'm going to start taking prental vitamins. I read that is good to start a few months earlier than when you actually try to conceive.

Anyone else taking prenatal vitamins? Suggestions on a brand?

No more children for us

Collectivly we have 2

His son 11, my son 10

FH doesn't want anymore children. I would have liked to have at least one, but I will settle for a Chocolate Brown Labradoodle

I think everyone has different priorities, and different situations. Everyone is also ready at different points in their life.
I also don't think that most people are ever financially ready to have children, they just are mentally ready to make the sacrificies in order to be good loving parents.
I think it would be a good idea for a couple to live together first for a while before jumping into having children, but for some, children is a top priority for both.
DH and I don't know if we want kids, we just want to spoil everyone elses!

a little before our wedding.. someone asked me when are we going to start reproducing.. I laughed at the person & said.. maybe in about 5yrs. from the wedding. I stated my reasons exactly like the above posters... well since the wedding.. I have had the baby fever really bad! since the wedding we've been TTC.. well not quite.. our tude is if it happens it happens.. so we'll see!

I would love to start Right away. BUT I think I may wait a year. I want to get settled in and save more money. It happens when It happens!

I'd like to start trying around 29-30 which will give us two years of being married... I know this is going to sound really werid and paranoid, but for some reason, I don't think I'll be able to have kids... So I have an open mind for adoption, etc. That is why I don't want to wait too long, in case we need to exhaust other routes.
