Re: SWR: Divorce
A couple of my friends who I'm not as close with are. I was invited to both of their weddings, they were about a month apart from each other in 2001, and they were divorced before their first anniversary.
They are both now remarried or almost remarried.

Re: SWR: Divorce
Actually FH is divorced. He was married VERY young, they were both young, she was 18 when she got pregnant. My parents are also divorced, they separated when I was 3....Many people now a days don't wait a long time to get to know each other, whats the rush if you're going to be with each other forever right? Re: SWR: Divorce
I am the first of my friends to get married, but one of my employee's daughters got married last June and had already filed for divorce in January...It really makes you wonder...

Re: SWR: Divorce
My cousin was seperated from her husband only 3 months after they got married...divorced a few months later...but they rushed into everything, from dating to engagment to wedding it was all under a year! Fh's parents were divorced....but my parents have been married 29 years and I think they are great role models... Marriage is not easy and like in your vows, through good times and bad, you need to stick together.

Re: SWR: Divorce
none of my close friends parents are divorced - but i can see how hard they work at it!
my parents would probably still be married, my father passed away 6 years ago....but my mom always said she still got butterflies seeing him after 20 years of marriage!

Re: SWR: Divorce
I am divorced BUT I was married at 17 because I thought I was doing the right thing since I got pregnant. He left after a year, he couldn't handle any of it. Oh well his loss...I got the best out of it I got my son and all the perks that go with it and non of the hassle of him (especially since we haven't seen him in 6 years). Sometimes divorce is a blessing in disguise.

Re: SWR: Divorce
I dated, got engaged, married and got divorced in under 18 months! I married someone I didn't know and realized too late I didn't love. Sadly, I was in a REALLY bad place when I met him. I just had gotten out of a 5 year relationship with someone I was deeply in love with. Yes-I married my rebound!
At least I didn't have to go through a technical divorce bc we got married in Mexico and never filed marriage papers in the US.
It all worked out perfectly in the end. I am marrying the love of my life.
I have one close friend that is seperated and a few friends that should get divorced bc they are so terrible to each other!
As for family, my parents are together but my sister is in a second marriage as are many of my cousins.
