SWR: Ring Polishing

SWR: Ring Polishing

Hi Ladies,

I need to have my e-ring polished up since it has some scratches. Does anyone have a good jeweler that they can recommend who will do this while I wait?

TIA

my suggestion is to take it to a retailer. It doesn't get all the scratches out but it will look a lot better.
I know Zales and Whitehall will do it for you.

This sounds really ridiculous but awhile back I went to one of those fishing expos with fh and they had one of those stands that had the polish that cleans anything, especially jewlery. I bought it to try and I absoutely love it, it makes my ring sparkle... I def recommend it, I think it is called purple magic

To get it professionally cleaned I take it to a jeweler that has a steamer.

I had my ring engraved at Genarro Jewlers. They did the engraving right in front of me on the spot and then they cleaned my ring. They are very good and well known. Im sur they will do it for you

also.. i clean my own ring...
straight amonia (or you can use windex because it has amonia in it)
water
dish soap

I put in a glass cup and put in the micro for 20 sec. then I soak my ring, then clean with a soft toothbrush. Trust me it works! (i was told to do this by a family member in the jewelry bus.)

I told someone at work to do this and she was amazed by how well it worked!

I think she means cleaning the band, not the diamond...

This is interesting- I usually get my e-ring and the 'promise' ring DH got me cleaned professionally every 3 months since I don't have to pay for it over at Heltzberg in Roosevelt Field Mall.

This is really good to know!

Is it white gold or platnium? Platnium scratches can't be removed, but they can polish it and redip it in Rhodium to make it less noticable. Any jeweler will do it.
