Table Names?

Who named their tables? What did you name them?

We talked about this the other night. We are going to use tropical islands as names but as not to confuse guests maybe use small numbers also. We also thought that we would put a tropical drink at each table to go with the theme(different one at each table).

Oh I love this topic - it's the only thing me and the FH can agree on. I'm from NY and he's from Boston, so we are going to name the tables street name. Ex: Broadway and Commonwealth Ave, Wall St. and Boylston St., Bleeker and Newbury. We were going to do a Red Sox/Yankee table naming thing, but we are having a party of 200+, we thought street names would be easier.

we were going to do places we've been together and have a pic of us at each place on the table but now we're thinking something else..i'll let you know when we've settled it

I haven't actually asked FI about this, but both he and I are cyclists, so I was thinking either bicycle brands (ie Trek, Cannondale, Schwinn, etc) or famous cyclists (Lance Armstrong, Miguel Indurain, Major Taylor, etc etc).

I LOVE THE STREET NAMES IDEA!!! I LOVE DRINKS ALSO, OR FOREIGN CITIES, OR VACATION SPOTS YOU'VE BEEN TO.

We are having names of leaves to go with our fall theme.

Since our wedding falls on the Thursday before 4th of July, we're probably going to do names associated with the holiday, such as...

Independence
Fireworks
Liberty

etc.

Initially I liked the idea of places we've been, but that list is too short....NY, Illinois, Michigan, FL, South Carolina. Even if we did the names of the towns, it would not be enough. We're having 17-18 tables.
Wish we were both into something, like baseball or hockey. I am, FH isn't really.

How 'bout the word 'love' spelled in a different language for each table? we were thinking of doing this.....or places in NY....satue of liberty, ellis island, central park, the Met, Rockefeller Center....

I just posted abou this the other day...

we had an autumn theme, so our tables were all named after Maple and Oak trees.

Sugar Maple
Red Oak
Northern Red Oak
Silver Maple
Japanese Maple
etc...

Each table also had a color that coresponded...matching the rest of the wedding I had little dyecut leaves on the place cards that helped them find thier table, along with the names.

We're using words such as:

love
faith
good luck

IN ITALIAN!

Both DH and I are in theatre ( or at least used to be). So, we named the tables after shows that we had been in since meeting.
