We're putting our tables together and we have some stragglers (i.e., not enough for their own table of 10-12, but too many to be combined with another table). They all know each other but probably not too many other people there. Do we split them up randomly and put 1 or 2 at another table or do we beg our RH to let us have a few tables that aren't filled? I'm bad at this stuff

Re: Tables
I would beg the RH to let you have a few non filled tables. Otherwise what I did was actually tell the RH that there was going to be 10 at the table and then the day of I was just going to say they didn't all show if anything was said. I actually made extra place cards for people I knew that weren't coming just so it actually looked like people didn't show (just in case the RH looked).

Re: Tables
I would ask about a table with less people. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, as long as you don't have too many tables under 10 ppl.

Re: Tables
I have two tables of 8, two 9, mostly 10, two 11 and one 12.
You can do this.

Re: Tables
My hall said minimum of 10 per table so I'm not sure what I'm going to do but maybe when FH gets home he can help!

This is what mine told me also but I just said I had tables of 10. Nothing was ever said the night of. What can they do if people don't show? I would just tell them you had 10 for each table. They aren't ever going to know.

Hmm...I guess that's true. I don't have to give them lists of who is at each table - just the placecards and an alphabetical list of all the guests. Thanks

We have a few tables that aren't filled. There's just no possible way to fill them. Hopefully our RH doesn't give us a hard time.
