Tacky?

Is ordering pizza for the bridal party after rehearsal as oppose to having a 'rehearsal dinner' tacky? Be honest.

Tacky? ~NO!

I think an informal pizza party sounds great! I would love the relaxed atmosphere, and would enjoy it! : )

Tacky?

I don''t think its tacky, but they are doing so much for you...I would show them my appreciation with something nicer. It can still be inexpensive. ie BBQ..and whos FH or any GM doesn'' like to BBQ, so you don''t have to cook!! :)

Tacky?

Hi- Where are you planning on having the pizza? If you are doing it at your house, or a relatives house, perhaps you can plan some 'couple' games, if you're having couples, or 'girly' games, if it's just a ladies night - something fun to do to celebrate right before the biggest day of your life. I think it could be a lot of fun...I have a huge bridal party, and my FH and I are paying for the wedding, so we won't be able to do a full dinner at a restaurant - we are considering a brunch the weekend before, being that we are marrying on a Friday. Good luck!

It's in November, and at the hotel where they're staying. *NM*

Tacky?

Ive been in a wedding party where the bride and groom did this. Personally, I did not care for it. Its not so much the pizza but the general lack of effort that was apparent. I agree with Yabbobay - I think you should try to pull together something a little nicer.

Tacky?

Dreamy your idea sounds good. Just because you have it in a restaurant it does not mean you put any more effort into it. Actually probably less since the restaurant is doing most of the work. This is a gathering of close friends and family you do not have to impress anyone. Pizza at the hotel sounds fun. Good luck!

Not tacky

I don't think it's tacky at all. I've been in many wedding parties where we went back to the bride's or groom's house and had hot/cold food and had a great time. And I didn't think any less of the couple, if anything, it was much better because you can interact more with everyone, as opposed to sitting in a restaurant and only being able to talk w/the people next to you. Just because it's in a house with pizza or a 6-foot hero, doesn't mean that you don't appreciate your bridal party! What does it matter where it is as long as you're with the people that matter the most to you and you chose to have at your side on your special day?!!! And if your bridal party thinks less of you, then they aren't real friends and don't deserve to be in the party. You're showing your appreciation of your bridal party no matter where you are or where you go just by asking them to be in it!

Not tacky

Just wanted to add that I think you can have a nice rehearsal get together without going to a restaurant.... just don't order the pizza and leave it at that. Make sure you have a true party atmosphere.

My problem is...

My parents' house is an hour away from where the wedding will be. We'll all be at the hotel because it's 5 minutes away from the hall. I'm spending lots of money on the wedding day, I really need suggestions for a very informal, inexpensive rehearsal dinner. Please help.

Dreamy

stop making yourself crazy over this! Whatever you do will be just fine and your bridal party will appreciate it and have a good time. I think having a pizza party (or any other type of food you want to order in) can be a lot of fun, especially in the hotel room! It doesn't matter what it is and where it is, it's who you're with that count. You'll see in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter, as long as you're all together! Good luck with whatever you choose and don't let it get to you!

pizza party

I had pizza recently for a rehearsal dinner, I was an out of town guest that was graciously invited and it was fine, but it was at an italian restuarant, they had just preordered all different pizzas and also had salad.

I totally agree with bearsbabe...me too!

I think you should do what makes you happy and what you can afford! You can also think of it this way: you can save $400-500 on the rehearsal dinner, and get them extra special gifts that they will keep forever! If they really love you, they will love you whether you have pizza or Dom Perignon at your rehearsal. There's an idea...pizza and wine or champagne!
