TACKY TACKY TACKY WHY LOOK?

What is up with some of you ladies on this board? Soneone posts a topic, question, or concern and they don't get a response....yet everyone reads it, that is so sickening and aggrevating...I thought we were on here to help one another....I just had to get that off of my chest....

i think some have learned the 'if you have nothing nice to say don't say it...'

i have posted items and questions and have gotten few to no responses. i just then assume no one likes what i have picked out

I know what you mean... relax though... I don't think there are alot of people on at this time and I know that I myself come on here and lurk or 'mooch' as I call it sometimes because I don't feel like posting (or don't have time because I'm about to run out) but I just want to read and see what's going on. Then I come back later and reply.

The thing that does bug me too though is that sometimes someone will ask a serious question that they really want help with and no one replies but like 100 people read it. But then someone posts about what color TP they used to wipe their butt today and 300 people post to congratulate them!!!

Eh... what are you gonna do -- it's a forum, it comes with the territory!!

(oh yes and sometimes people read a post and they just honestly have no information, don't know the answer, or can't think of anything to add but I hear your frustration)

Do you reply to every single post you open? There are many reasons one might not respond to a thread, here are a few of mine: I sometimes don't feel like I have anything positive or helpful to add, sometimes I think the post is stupid so I ignore it, and sometimes I just don't have the time to write a worthy response so I figure better to deal with it a later time. I really don't think it is tacky to chose not to respond to a thread. Not to mention there are countless people who are not registered to post on the boards and just read everything so you really should not be judging the number of views against the number of replies.

I too am a lurker lol.
But I'm usually at work so I cant always post. Sorry
But dont always assume its b/c of your post alot of times the same question gets asked over and over so some may choose not to respond.

Sometimes I look but I don't have an answer. Or you know the way drama use to go around here. Sometimes its better to not have anything said. Also lots of people could look at the same post 20 times to see what everyone else said.

I read most of the posts here, but don't always respond. Why? Because:

I don't have an answer.
or
Someone already said what I was going to say.
or
I have nothing useful to add.
or
I don't like the dress/invite/idea, but would never say so.

I'm not doing it to be spiteful mean, or because I don't want to help

I agree and have often had the same feelings. I have posted serious questions many times and had to beg for input yet someone asks everyone to post their age when they will be married and 50 people reply in a minute (not picking on whoever asked that question)

Hummm, a good point. But, sometimes I read the posts and have absolutely no advice or information whatsoever. So, I would feel weird posting, 'I don't know'

Re: TACKY TACKY TACKY WHY LOOK?

I didn't realize we had to respond to every post we look at. Am I supposed to tell someone that their dress looks bad on them or I don't like their hair? Why? Most of us are old enough to make our own decisions and I think it's a bit needy to expect everyone to stop what they are doing to affirm EVERY choice we make. Also - we all have different styles so why does it matter what I like? Brides should do what makes them happy - not me as a reader (Yes - I realize they posted a question but I'm not so sure they want an honest response from everyone when they post these questions so i often don't comment)
I would hope people respond when and only when they can contribute. Otherwise, they are wasting everyone's time.

I feel the same way.

Re: TACKY TACKY TACKY WHY LOOK?

Often, when I don't post, it's because I'm not from NY so I don't know the answer or someone has already said what I wanted to say. It is frustrating though, when you want some honest help with pics and ideas, and you hardly get any responses. I know I'm silly and I sometimes get paranoid and think maybe I'm phrasing the question the wrong way, or maybe I've said something to offend people (though I do my best to stay out of the drama completely) because I often get so few posts and some get so many! But I take it with a grain of salt.

agreed, this may include a negative experience 'I' had with a vendor or idea

people need to get over them selves...
if nobody gave there personal thoughts, and just said it's good, why do we need to post a question asking 'what do you think of this vendor?'

there is a certain way to say something negative about your experience. but don't go around hating and cursing out a vendor. thats uncall for.

i agree. the key word is USEFUL! if a open a post, there is no need for me to repeat what has already been said 2893080 times.
