Tahiti in June?

Fh and I are considering Tahiti for our honeymoon. After reading several books about Tahiti it states that the rainy season can start anywhere from June/July. Is this true?
i dont want to go anywhere with the possiblity of rain! Any thoughts would be apprciated.

Thanks

I actually thought that the rainy season was in January. FI and I were looking into it for our honeymmon as well, but in January- I was afraid of the weather being too humid (its thier summer). Try gotahiti.com- I think they break out the weather by month.

We went there for our honeymoon in June 2003 and we were there for a little over 2 weeks and did encounter some rain but it wasn't like constant rain for days on end. I think it rained 3 times - the evening that we arrived, 1 day during our stay and then in the late afternoon on the day we were leaving. Otherwise it was beautiful, sunny and perfect. The resorts had those huge umbrellas available for guests all around the resort so you don't have to worry about getting wet if it does rain.

I did a review of my honeymoon if you are interested:

So when is the rainy season?

According to them, the rainy season is Nov to April, but they also say that it never gets that bad. THe prices are less that ime of year, so I would assume that it is the rainy season.

it's amazing there even while it rains! we were there mid july and it rained 2 or 3 times. it doesn't last long and it's really refreshing. just one day it rained for more than a couple hours, the morning we were leaving.

I was there at the end of June towards the beginning of July. The first island we went to was Moorea and it rained once, but when we arrived in Bora Bora it rained 3 out of the 5 nights we were there. Like Sonia mentioned the resorts have huge umbrellas they give out.

sonia is right, the rainbows you see there after it rains are unbelievable. I have never seen a complete rainbow until I was in bora bora. I have attached a picture. It was gorgeous.

Thanks for the feedback. Tahiti does look amazing.. the only issue is that my FH does not want to be in a place where it could rain. Ill show him these pictures and they will hopefully change his mind!

when we went it was dry season. just keep in mind any where you go you have a chance of getting rain. obviously some places are greater though. good luck.

I was so excited to see this post. We are going to Tahiti on a cruise in July for our honeymoon. Fh is a teacher so we are going away for a mini moon right away and then on the cruise. The pic is so amazing!!!!!! It is such a nice sight to see with all the bad weather we have been having lately!!!
