True story: We went to St. Lucia and we took our rings. We locked them up while playing all day and put them on at night when we got dressed for dinner or partying. While playing pool volleyball one of the guys playing lost his ring while in the water when he went to hit the ball over the net. It ended up in the bushes because your hand shrinks in water and the ring slipped off and went flying! We ended up having a search party and found it, but then another girl lost her 2 ct ring at the bottom of the pool.

I felt safe at the hotel locking up the rings but I would absolutely not swim with them.

Good to hear. I'll be sure to lock mine in the hotel safe when swimming.

Another good point to keep in mind, should it be lost or stolen - make sure your renters/homeowners insurancew covers your new rings, e-ring and wedding rings. Ususlly a seperate ryder is needed.

As I know nothing could truly replace this ring at least I could get a check to get a new one. Make sure to get regular appraisals, my ring has increased in value over the past year because of the price of platinum.

I brought it! I didn't want to part with it and my husband said thats what insurance is for. I planned to wear it the whole time. But after being there and seeing how amazing the service was at my resort, I ended up leaving it in the safe during the days I did water sports.

thanks for all the replies! i think i will leave mine. i will be swimming all the time and doing active things...i don't want to have to swim making a fist! that cracked me up! :)

i don't want to have to worry about it slipping off if my hand shrinks in the water...good advice thanks!

I will probably leave my e-ring at home for the HM. I've worn it on other vacations I've been on and I've been really nervous about it the whole time. I know I'd feel a lot better knowing its safe at home!

I think I would be scared locking it up in the safe... JUST incase... I would rather leave it on me... but I'm not going to the beach (europe)... so i think we'll be ok.

But if i'm worriedk, i'm just going to leave it at home, and wear our wedding bands.

I'm taking mine. I can leave it in the safe, but I will probably just wear it on the beach.

Our room has a safe, so I am thinking I will take it.

Well, I just got back last night from the honeymoon and I was really glad I left the ering at home. I took my band, but left it in the safe for most of the time. We were swimming most of the time and it was just a releif not to have the ering with me. Especially since we were so absent-minded that we left the safe open on accident!

I brought mine and left it in the safe almost the entire time. if I had to do it again I would leave it home. We bought matching sterling silver rings with a wave design on them in Hawaii and that is what we wore

I was just in the Bahamas last week & I took my Engagement ring with me & wore it the entire time...We did lots of water activities including snorkeling & parsailing....I could not imagine leaving it home..

Everyone tells me, the one time you take it off is the time you are going to misplace it or lose it....So hearing that, I never take it off

I'm definately wearing mine. It's insured anyway. We have a safe in the room, so anytime I go swimming, I'll leave it in there.

I have a friend who lost her e-ring while swimming so I will be leaving mine at home. Also I dont really trust those hotel safes.

We went on a cruise. I took. When we went into port, I locked it in the safe in the room. When we were on ship, I wore it. I don't think I would have brought it if I didn't have a safe available to me.
