Taking naps...

Taking naps...

How can I get my son to take naps in his crib? He does great at bedtime, but when he's home and it's nap time, and I go to put him in his crib whether he's asleep or not he'll scream bloody murder and just won't take a nap. To get him to sleep at night we had to let him CIO. Now he's wonderful going to bed and throughout the night.

He's in daycare FT and he takes his nap there in his crib. It's just when he's home on the weekends he refuses. He always takes his naps in his highchair. It reclines and I'm sure it's comfortable, but I think being in his own crib would be more comfortable. This way I also don't have to be so quiet around the house.

Do I have to let him CIO for naps too? I just think he associates his crib with bedtime so he knows it's not bedtime and just won't go to sleep.

Thanks!

my son is the same way....he will nap just about anywhere but his crib....i started putting him the in play pen to nap....at least i know he is safe there...i thinks he associates the crib with nighttime sleep and he knows he is not ready to go to bed for the night

Re: Taking naps...

Angela was great at napping in her crip and going to sleep with no problem....until like 4 days ago when she learned to sit up, and then the next day how to pull herself up. Now as soon as she hits the crib, unless she is sound asleep first in my arms, she flips over, sits up, pulls herself up with the slats, and jumps up and down....then cries.....
