Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I purposely planned my wedding in July b/c I am a teacher and I have anxiety so I knew I needed the few weeks before my wedding off.
I say, if you can take the week, take it

Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I'm getting married July 5th so obviously my office is closed the day before. I'm just undecided if I'll work the 3rd usually they're really good about letting us out early, so I may take a 1/2 day or wait till we're told to leave at 2:00

I'm a teacher, so I'll be off when my wedding is going on. Plus, I own my own business and I work when I want to for that.

What kind of business do you own? I always wanted to open something since us teachers have so much time off

Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I'm like the only teacher I know that didn't plan her wedding during a break but the end of September has meaning for me. The last bride at my job took a week off during the normal school year and the principal grieved it and won. So when I announced my wedding date she actually warned me that if I take off a week, she will grieve me too.
Ummm, I didn't plan to! I'm a professional.
I plan to have everything -- and I mean everything -- done during the coming summer. I will start off the new school year calm and relaxed - that's my plan anyway lol.

Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I'm taking about a week before off and then a week after for the HM... the only reason because i'll be moving to Charleston in June and i'll need time before the wedding to finish up some last minute things.

Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I'm a teacher too and I am getting married in the summer so that I could have time off before and after the wedding for the HM. Our district doesn't let you take off for your wedding. Funny enough you can take a day or two for someone elses wedding, but not your own. I think that if you can take off and want to then go for it. I am glad I have the time the week before off.

Re: Taking time off work for your wedding
I'm a teacher and planned a July wedding purposely. I will be off almost 3 weeks before the wedding. I would recommend taking off...you are going to be running around and probably stressing. If you can't manage a week, definitely take off Wednesday-Friday then.
