Taking time off work for your wedding

Original post by shoegal68

is anybody taking a full week before the wedding? i was going to but i am not sure if its really necessary. i am hoping to have all my final appointments done sooner than later. so besides dropping things off at RH & a final fitting not sure if a full week is necessary.

my sister already said i should take the week to help my mom clean her home.. um hellooo she can help too. .. she is the one who works part time

Our wedding was on a Saturday night, I only left work early on Thursday to head up to the rehearsal and then took off on Friday. I didn't need any more days than that. Everything was already done by Wed and most of it I did while I was sitting at my desk at work.

okay GOOD. I was starting to think I am crazy for only taking off the friday before.... I can't imagine what i would need to do that I can't do it all the day before, plus i'm taking two weeks off for the HM and two days for my bach party the weekend before.

My plan is to take off a week before the wedding and 3 weeks after (2 weeks for the HM and 1 week to move into my new apt). It depends on how much time off I accrue by then. The least amount of time I will be taking off is the wed-fri before and 2 weeks after. I work for the govt so its completely flexible. Im even debating taking off the 2 weeks for the honeymoon and working half days for the following 2 weeks so I can move and organize.

I'm not taking any time off before the wedding. FH gets out of work really early and we're both very organized so he can bring the stuff to our RH 2 days before.

I am only taking the Friday before my wedding off I am sure that I will leave early Thursday, but we have 2 HM's planned, so I can't use up a lot of time.
If you have it I would say go for it

I'm taking off the full week before...but we're getting married in south Florida so I'll need the time to get everything squared away. If we were having it up here I'd probably take the 2-3 days before off...maybe not the whole week.

I'm taking 2 1/2 weeks...couple days before the wedding and 2 weeks after 1 week for the honey moon and 1 week to just relax together at home as newly weds

I'm taking 2 weeks for honeymoon...FH thinks I'm crazy because i said maybe I'll just do a morning shift the day before the wedding. maybe i'll just take the one day before off.

I'm getting married on a Friday. I'm taking off starting Wednesday, and two weeks after. Luckily my boss is pretty lax about vacay days, so as I get closer to the big day and I feel like I'll need off on that Monday or Tuesday it most likely won't be a problem. I doubt I'll be getting much work done those days anyways.

I am not taking a full week off. I am taking Thursday and friday off. My wedding is on a sunday. And if I need to I'll take off on Wednesday.

In my opinion I wouldn't take the entire week BUT if you have the time then go for it.

I am off the Wed, Thurs, Fri before and then 2 1/2 weeks after -- I might push it to 3. I need the three days before for my own sanity but not more then that.

My FH is off for an entire month -- 1 week before and 3 weeks after -- you would think he was the bride

I am getting married on a Friday so I will definitely take off on Thursday, Friday, and Monday, possibly Wednesday.

I just don 't want last minute things to come up & i am stuck at work. I work in the city so my commute is about an hour. Just trying to think of what can possibly come up so i have all bases covered.

I am worried that if i am home though i will be recruited for other NWR things

luckily my boss is cool & can play it by ear. just don 't want to waste any days
