talk about rude!

I only been at my church for a year. I asked this girl who is getting married at my church how do you reserve your wedding date at the church. First she told me to wait until July then she called me back and told me to do it now. She told me to write two letters to 2 of the church board members so I did that. When they pointed out to who was supposed to get the letters she looked at me...put her head down and kept walking. So I stopped her and explained to her that I want my date reserved to I can get pastor's approval that he is available on that date so I can get my reception hall booked...she kept looking away like she wasnt listening took the letters and told me to get back to her on Sunday becasue she has to get an 2009 calendar.....I was soooo pissed off!

I mean damn! I know Im 18 months away but She didnt have to snub me!

I have to say, that as much as I want a church wedding, all the red tape you have to go through is starting to get annoying.

But I agree...if there's no calendar, then no one has your date!

but see guys......I want to book my reception hall right away so I dont have to worry about that...everything else comes later on......I cant book anything w/o pastor's approval of the date....im not worried about nothing else...its just the hall i want to get out the way....

I never knew wedding planning could be so frusturating!


I need to make sure that other church events or if hes available on that day

Oh sooo not true! I called the church, sat with the wedding coordinator and spoke with the secretary and gave them my date. The secretary opened the brand new 09 calendar and wrote my name in. Two weeks later I get a call from Father telling me they double booked my wedding! It turns out it was a girl I grew up with and when she set everything 3 months before me, they never bothered to put HER date in the calendar. It all worked out and they moved her time up and moved mine back so we both could be accomidated. My advice is to stay on top of your church to make sure they are going to do what they are supposed to do. I wasnt nasty or anything but my father took over and he was firm with them. It also helped that I made my aunt look at the secretarys calendar and make sure my date was in there lol.
