I went to two different florists this past weekend while I was on LI. I had brought up Stephanotis because I think they are cute as a button and would go great with my red rose boks.
One florist was all about them and said they would look great. The other STRONGLY advised against them because they are so delicate, brides get upset when they turn brown prematurely.
If you used them, or are using them, what are your thoughts?
ETA: It would be a difference of $80 to add them.

Re: Talk to me about Stephanotis flowers!
i had them, they did not turn.
all of my girlfriends so far who have been married have had them, and they have turned.
roses especially white or ivory ones or light colored ones usually turn brown very early in the day!

Re: Talk to me about Stephanotis flowers!
I've heard that they are especially delicate flowers. A good florist will dip them in wax so that they don't turn brown prematurly. Also, if they're going to be in the groom's bout. then he should have a second one since they're not 'huggable'. That's the term that Laurie at LA Blossom used. Some flowers can stand all of the hugging and some, like stephanotis, can't.

I'm using them too and I am pretty sure they did not cost $80 extra! Wow, and I am having pearls in them too. Definitely go with your first impression.

Uh-oh! I didnt mean to make everyone second guess themselves.
I asked for prices for my boks with and without them. The price with them was $80 more. This is from a local flower shop.
Interested to see if anyone else out there has any more stories?

I had stephanotis in my bouquet and they were fine for the whole day. By the next day they were brown and sad, but who cares? They looked beautiful for the entire cermony and reception.

They dipped mine in wax and they looked beautiful the entire day. They never turned brown and nobody mentions paying more money for them
I was told they are one of the most popular wedding flowers, so I am sure they won't turn

They are very delicate, and they can turn IF the florist doesn't set up the bo-k properly. They are not recommended for bouts for that reason, but FH's has them anyway b/c that's what I wanted.
