Talk to me about Stephanotis flowers!

I went to two different florists this past weekend while I was on LI. I had brought up Stephanotis because I think they are cute as a button and would go great with my red rose boks.

One florist was all about them and said they would look great. The other STRONGLY advised against them because they are so delicate, brides get upset when they turn brown prematurely.

If you used them, or are using them, what are your thoughts?

ETA: It would be a difference of $80 to add them.

I was thinking about doing a bo-k of all stephanotis for the flower girls. My cousin is a florist and advised against it, she said if the girls touch them alot, then they will turn. But if don't touch the flowers in your bo-k, they should be fine. As for the price, I don't know.

I had stephanotis in my bouquet and they were fine for the whole day. By the next day they were brown and sad, but who cares? They looked beautiful for the entire cermony and reception.

same here...

I had them in my boq and it was soooooo freaking HOT out and they were fine.

mine did NOT turn brown-they were gorgeous
to me, they are so 'bridish'
I had them with pink roses

steph is only for the bride...it symbolizes fertility so only the bride and groom should have it.

mine held up fine, but not when i sent the flowers to be preserved. but that's another story

my friend had stephanotis in her bouquet and it did turn brown and discolored after awhile...

i noticed it in the limo

they also say its good to have a few in the bridal bouquet for good luck

I love stephanotis flowers and always have so i knew i def wanted them - (i actually had them at the prom and they stayed great in my corsage)
I had them in my bok with some orchids and the bok was fine all night - They definitely did not dry nicely but that was days later.
dh had a stephanotis bout and it lasted fine - which was surprising. Our florist had sent an extra bout for him but we never needed it.

I had the in by Bo-k and one or 2 of them had a few brown spots, but nothing terrible! However they did make the guys bouts out of them and I hated how they looked (too small) and they all got smooshed to easily! If you want them for the guys as well pair them with another flower.....I wish I did!

I had a tiny few in my bouquet. they were dead the next day and they get flaky. BUT they are gorgeous!!!!!

They are a very delicate flower, as long as you do not touch them they will be fine. I had a few in my bo-k mixed w/ mini calla lillies, and it was fine all day & night.
But, I was in a wedding last year and the brides whole bo-k was Stephanotis. It was brown after Church. She had to use the BM bo-k for her pictures.

They usually charge more for them because they come boxed in groups of 25. Most local places don't use them for anything besides a wedding so they would go to waste elsewhere.

I love them and actually asked my florist to dip them in wax for me and FH. We are having them painted with red latex for the girls bo-k's. That way they are sealed as well. I wanted the girls bo-k's to be an exact mirror of mine.
