TARGET REGISTRIES BEWARE!!

OK my sister registered at Target and a lot of her items were never signed off as PURCHASED, leaving her with many multiple gifts. She went there today to return the extras and it turns out....

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE GIFT RECEIPT OR ANY RECEIPT OF ANY KIND, AND THE ITEM IS OVER $20.00, THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT BACK, NOR WILL THEY GIVE YOU ANY KIND OF STORE CREDIT OR EVEN EXCHANGE. IF THE ITEM IS UNDER $20.00, THEY WILL LET YOU RETURN 2 ITEMS ONLY FOR THE YEAR.

MY MOM CALLED CORPORATE AND THE GIFT REGISTRY DEPT. AND THEY JUST TOLD HER THAT THAT IS THEIR POLICY AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY AROUND IT.

BE SURE TO READ THE BIG RETURN POLICY AT CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE YOU REGISTER. ALL THEY KEPT SAYING WAS TO CALL THE GUESTS AND GET THE RECEIPTS! HOW DARE THEY!!

I must say, I am extremely DISGUSTED with them. This is one of my FAVORITE stores ever, and to hear that this is their policy, is so dissapointing. She wound up getting 4 microwaves, ALL FROM TARGET....because the registry never deleted the items (YES THE GUESTS TOLD THEM IT WAS FROM A REGISTRY AND SHE HAS THE RECEIPT FOR IT SO DON'T EVEN GO THERE)....so now she has a $400.00 STORE CREDIT!!!! WTH??????????

I am deleting my registry RIGHT NOW!

I have had a really bad experience there also - they really don't allow returns, only even exchanges - so if you are returning a mixer, you can only get the same mixer - what good is that if you have multiples!!!!!

This is why I am not registering there!

BBB and LnT have a lot of the same things with none of the hassle!

oh my registry there was like 4+ pages long......and i'm deleting it. I can't even believe this!!! I am so angry!!!

yeah i can't even deal....i'm in shock right now. THANK THE LORD I wasn't there because i'd be in jail.....

I will ABSOLUTELY NOT be registering with them. If they only knew how much business they are losing by being that way. Oh well..their loss!

Thats horrible. I have heard negative stories from that place. Its a great place for everyday things but I would never register there

yeah i'm def. going to start investigating return policies...FH and I will go to BBB or LNT to register, but I need to see their policys in front of my face before I even think about it.

$400 credit?? that is such crap!!! The only upside is that they have EVERYTHING there, so worst case, she can go food shopping and buy cleaners and stuff there (for the rest of her life!) but it will still be done with resentment.

I am calling corporate tomorrow and telling them they just lost a huge registry that had high value, and they lost what was a VERY loyal customer forever.
