i heard the registry was really bad, so we deleted ours, even though there were many things we really wanted that only target sold. we'll just those items on our own. we moved our target registry to BBB, so now we have BBB and fortuneoff. sux so bad that target's policy is so f'd up!

file a complaint here
.the squeaky wheel ...they post it on the WWW and also send a copy to the company headquarters urging them to rectify the situation so they take the complaint down...the company recieves an email every time someone reads the page

DEFINATELY document the reaction here on the site. Let them know that you have umpteen brindes that are either deleting/ not registering there because of this. tell them you will continue to make all the brides aware of this problem unless it is remedied. sometimes the 'squeeky wheel' gets the grease! use the power of the numbers on this board to help your sister out. lets at least get those 4 microwaves taken care of for her! :)

Re: TARGET REGISTRIES BEWARE!!

thats horrible...definitely register at BBB they are the best with their return policy, even if you dont have the receipt they'll still do it, they also have cash return. PLUS i bought something the other day and the girl said if you have a coupon at home bring the receipt for what you just bought and we'll give you money back even though you already bought it, im not gonna go back now lol but shows how great they are.

BUT can i say that it annoys me that ppl purchase things for a shower and never give the person at the register the registry to check it off...Its happened to me quite a few times where i buy something and others buy the same thing, Im just like AHHHHHHH why didnt you have it checked off then we wouldnt have this problem, is it that hard to do?

Re: TARGET REGISTRIES BEWARE!!

Yah, we heard about Targets policy when we had registered.......we ended up deleting what we had on the registry, BUT instead, we just put gift cards on as the items. That way, we could still get stuff from Target......and everyone was happy. It worked out great! We received quite a few gift cards from Targer off our registry, and purchased what we wanted to get in the first place from there. Also, we decided to return items that we purchased with our gift cards, and there was never a problem.....we kept our receipts and it was pretty easy.

Sooooooooo, that's the other option you have.

I understand the frustration though.......it's VERY annoying. BUT, you have to remember that stores will make mistakes with registries. We had a registry at BBB and we ended up with 3 sets of $400 pot's and pans becuase the BBB registry never took them off when they were purchased. We know for a fact that two of the couples used the registry printout and it was scanned.....but it never got removed. Also, we received a lot of other duplicates from BBB, such as cooking aprongs, frames, glasses, pillows............Thankfully, BBB has a good return policy. But just wanted to show you that every registry will have a glitch sooner or later

That's too bad your sister is dealing with that though...........

I work for Target and the policy with a gift registry is that if you return items that are on the registry without a receipt, you show them the registry and they will take it back and give you a gift card. This is a similar policy with any store. If it's not a registry item, and there's no receipt then you're out of luck. There really is absolutely no override that the managers can do to give you your money back. I know in other stores you can call a manager and they have some magic key or code they can enter to override the system, but Target does not. It makes it fair for everyone because there can be no exceptions. The policy has only gotten stricter in spite of consumer complaints because exceptions used to be made, but not anymore.

EVERYONE told target that it was from the registry. They tell you to bring it to customer service and that they will take care of it but they don't. I know this is true, because I BOUGHT STUFF FOR HER!!! Of course I told them it was from her registry. Target is just stupid!! BBB here i come!

I'm sorry but this is 100% UNTRUE! She had gift receipts AND showed them her registry and how NOTHING was taken off the registry. They only allow you to return 2 items annually and the value MUST be less than $20.00.

Absolutely....but in this case, I was with (for arguements sake) my grandmother, mother, aunts, cousins, bc we all went together, and we had her registry printed out. We even circled them as we picked stuff up....NOT ONE of our items were removed from the registry.
