Re: tax and gratituity question
it would be $59.81 with tax and then another $10.77 with a 18% gratituty= $70.58

Re: tax and gratituity question
You figure it this way:
$55 x 8.75% sales tax = $4.81
$55 x 18% gratuity = $9.90
Add those two numbers to the base price:
$55 + $4.81 + $9.90 = $69.71
So, $55pp is really $69.71pp
Hope that made sense!

Re: tax and gratituity question
I got it a little cheaper than the above poster. I did tax: 8.75% plus gratuity:18% = 26.75%. Then do $55 x 1.2675 = $69.71.

Re: tax and gratituity question
the hall does this for you.... but i don't know if you pay gratuity on tax... i think you might i am paying about $40 extra a person for both...it depends on what you are paying pp
but you don't have a choice in the matter it is automatically included in your bill usually halls say 18% gratuity = 8.75 tax

Re: tax and gratituity question
The gratuity gets taxed. So, my gratuity is 15%
That means, it I were paying $100 per head, it would become $115 with the gruity and then I'd get charged the tax based on $115 per head.
This changed in Jan 03. It used to be that both tax and gratuity were computed off of the per head, so it would be $100 per head plus $15 gratuity plus $8.65 tax
