I saw somewhere on here that there should be no tax on vendors/ services.
A photographer we got a quote from had tax on the quote.
There weren't (many) tangible items- i think just the digital CD, no books? Cant remember
Would this be why there is tax or is this so they can 'Scam' for cash deposits, etc. only?

Re: Tax on vendors?
I'm not sure about photographers but there may be tax because you are receiving goods in the end.
I know there is not suppose to be tax on DJ services (this might be changing as there is a law that may be passed that allows taxing) and transportation.

DJ's should not be charging tax...I'm pretty sure that photographers can.

Re: Tax on vendors?
I paid tax for my photographer and videographer. DJs I don't think are aloud to charge tax on their services and my florist told me if I paid cash I wouldn't be charged tax.

Re: Tax on vendors?
You have to definitely pay tax to your photographer unless you have a 'cash' agreement. I was unsure about tax for a DJ. Come to think of it I think our potential DJ was lowering his price if we paid in cash to save on tax or just lower the price. Does anyone have proof that they shouldnt be charging tax??

Re: Tax on vendors?
Just checked my DJ contract, no tax on the contract and my deposit was paid with a debit card.

Re: Tax on vendors?
My DJ said they are not allowed to charge tax and when a DJ company says that they will lower the price if you pay cash then that is bull. We didn't pay ofr our DJ in cash and we didn't get charged tax.
