Teacher Brides

Anyone inviting their students? I would like to write up a little something to give some of my kids the week before, with directions and the time of the church. Any cute wording ideas???

Re: Teacher Brides

I teach in Queens and the ceremony is in Suffolk County. I'm sure none of my kids would be able to get a ride to the church. Also, I am afraid that they would think that they are invited to the RH. Imagine all of them showed up to the RH? What would you say? Sorry, but you were only invited to the church? You can't really write on the invite, Invitation to the Wedding Ceremony only, lol.

Re: Teacher Brides

I just wanted to jump in and say that it's so nice that you want to invite your students to your ceremony...I didn't invite any of mine though. I had some students' parents tell me they wanted to go but I was so stressed and crazed that I didn't get in touch with them in time

Re: Teacher Brides

My (dance) students have already asked me about this. I told them they can come to the RH but only for the ceremony. I dunno how many are going to actually make the trip from Westchester but I don't mind if they stop by. I'm going to post a flyer at the studio or maybe put the info in our summer newsletter.

Re: Teacher Brides

I was also thinking about inviting them to the church. I dont know how many of them will actually remember or come, but I thought it would be a nice thing. I like that poem. I might have to use that.

Re: Teacher Brides

heres an old thread that has some ideas

http://www.liweddings.com/chat/topic.aspx?ID=141737

heres the poem i used

Second grade is almost over and summer will be here.
That means Ms._______'s wedding day is near!

You are all so special to me and I would like to say,
I would love to see you on my wedding day!

It would be my pleasure to have you there
To celebrate this happy affair!

and then the information of your church...i know u cant use the top part (because youre getting married in Jan right?) but u can just delete the top part and just write You are invited to Ms. _____ wedding! and then write the next 2 parts

The poems are cute! I have the same problem. I teach in a junior-senior high, and I have had students asking me to go since last year. My 10th grade honors students from last year keep telling me that they would be really great guests. I think it's cute, but impossible, unfortunately! I will just have to bring in pics for them.

Re: Teacher Brides

Those poems are great! I teach first grade and would love to see some of my little kiddies at the church when I walk down the ailse. They always ask me if they can come and I am def. going to use one of these poems. My girlfriend teaches third grade and had about 20 of her students come and she took the cutest pic with all of them and sent it as a thank you for coming to see her get married!

Re: Teacher Brides

I kept saying I would never invite my HS students but I also coached cheerleading for 5 years ( i just finished my last season) and the parents and the girls had talked about being invited for so long... at the end of the season I said they were welcome to come as long as they were appropriate and didn't leak any info! I said if they really wanted to go to see me the week before and I'll give them the ceremony info

Re: Teacher Brides

I teach JHS 7th grade and some of my students asked me when and where so they could come to the church. I mentioned it to FH last year (about inviting students to the church) and he doesn't think it's a good idea. I'm not sure if I'm inviting students yet.
