Teachers...

where do i go to get fingerprinted? I just got the cards in the mail, but it doesnt give info on where to go

the department of education in brooklyn??? I work for a school so i had to do mine there... maybe is different for teachers

I did it the semester before I graduated... the people who did it came to my college and did it really quickly. If you are still in college maybe you can ask the education department .. I know they came to my school twice a year (once each semester)

Im not a teacher either, but a school psych... thats why i feel a bit out of the loop on all this... it was never discussed with us! And when I interned in Mineola, they never asked me to get it done...

Brooklyn is a bit of a hike for me to just get fingerprints done so im trying to find other ways

It depends what district you are going to be working for. In most cases you can just call your local police dept and they will do it for you. I know that the State Trooper stop on the Southern State parkway does it but you have to call and make and appointment.

I only know where fsil works (its in downtown brooklyn) through the BOE...

I do know you can go to a precinct though too...

I did it at the school when I went to sub for them like 4 years ago. But I think Police Depts. do them...

Is it for the DOE? When I got fingerprinted for the DOE I was able to go to a local police precinct and they did it there.

yes it is... okay looks like the PD is where im going!

Just double check... I was fingerprinted five years ago when I started subbing so I'm not sure if they've changed the rules.

i got mine done at the district office when i was working in Valley Stream....but I dont know if they do it for anyone, or just their own employees

thanks hun!!! i actually already paid 94 and change through a website run by DOE where i can check on the progress of my certfication... What is the charge for the police station?

oh jeeze! at least my kids dont move around that much...student teaching blows, BTW
