Teachers, anyone know John Hewlett, Teacher at Half Hollow Hills School, Setauket?

Recently, I read http://www.newsday.com/community/guide/lihistory/ny-history-hs407b,0,6633410.story

and tried to get in touch with the newswriter, who did this article! Haven't heard anything yet. As you know, I'm a big fan of researching my family history. I like to unravel mysteries as well. When I looked at notes I had taken, from my maternal Grandma, many yrs. ago, in my 'shorthand', were the words, Paul Borland, secret stairs, Hewlett, Tories, MET. I have since discovered that Paul was a Brother to my GGGGrandfather, John Borland, and he married a Hewlett, who lived/connected to the Hewlett House on Long Island, that contained secret stairs, china cupboard, etc. to hide Tories/Loyalists. Portions of that room are now at the MET, including the cupboard, and from what I understand, had been on display in the American Wing of the Museum. An elderly cousin, told me her Mother, who was a long time resident of Long Island, visited some Aunts at the famed house. She also verified my notes. I would love to find out where Paul Borland went , and which Hewlett he married. I am wondering if they escaped to Canada, as many Loyalists did, in those days. Do any of you teachers know John Hewlett, the 7th grade social studies teacher, who teaches at Half Hollow Hills School, the subject of the above article? I would love to talk to him!!! Just for clarification, I'm also debismom, and looking forward to her Long Island Wedding, but it would be so neat to solve another piece of this puzzle!! Thanks!!!!! Mary MOB

This article talks about the family and the cupboard, and secret hiding places. It speaks of it as being at Woodbury. Where is Woodbury?
