Teachers..How did your Halloween parties go today??

I must say I am completely exhausted!! We had such a fun day! Tons and tons of food. The staff at my job also cooked and each person brought something in so it was double the food, but sooo yummy!! I must say though, I was a little shocked at the parent support I got. Only 5 parents showed up out of 16 kids. I invited them all so I was a little upset at that. All the other classrooms were packed with parents. I guess it was good though because with all the parents in the other rooms, it seemed really hectic and atleast they all remembered to send in the goodies!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Just like you, I am completely exhausted. The kids were really cute all dressed up and we had tons of candy!

i am so tired! being sick also did not help but the kids were so excited and looked so cute in their costumes. We had so much junk food- i only tooka little taste....

I'm exhausted too and my feet are killing me! That translates to 'the kids had a blast'.

My school is not allowed to celebrate Halloween
However, I did manage to sneak goodies bags inside their backpack before they went home.


I had a HORRIBLE day! I have to move into a new classroom, 36 days into the school year with a bottom class, with 6 holdovers, into the 'mini' building, I can go on and on

My school is also not allowed to celebrate Halloween. I work in catholic school and God forbid we have some fun dressing up...My principal calls it the 'devil's holiday'

I'm in a catholic school also. We celebrated Halloween up to 2nd grade. Unfortunately my asst. was needed as a sub and I was by myself. I could not think of a worse day to work alone (in a 3 year old classroom). Between wearing costumes, eating candy, the change in schedule and the holiday looming, my kids were OFF the wall....I actually just crashed for 3 hours.....

At least we have Monday off. :)

I am a 2 year old teacher and WOW Im wiped. They had fun, they looked adorable, and as soon as 'rest time' came, they hit thier cots like a ton of bricks!

my kids cracked me up!!! they waited ALL day and were soooo good and then when it came time for them to exchange some candy...well, you'd think they all owned hershey with what they brought in!!!

OMG! I am so tired!
It was great though...the kiddies made a craft, played a little 'pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern' and had fun dressing up.
I surprised them with my costume, and the kids loved the parade!

we're not allowed to have halloween parties at our school. Only christmas/holiday party and end of the year party. I did give them some candy on the way out the door.

We got around the no celebrating Halloween by calling it 'Literature On Parade'.

The point was to have the kids dress up as their favorite character from a book. Really, they can dress up as anything they want since you can find a book about anything (ghosts, dracula, ninja turtles etc.)

There were a few children that couldn't even participate in that either because of religion and the school made alternate plans for them for the hour the kids dressed up. Why should all the fun be taken away from the 600 kids that can celebrate for 5 (all from the same family) who couldn't?????

Where's the fun today?

PS- I am as exhausted as everyone else here.
