I am doing a demo this week. I was always taught that in math you are supposed to do a problem for them, then have them do one with you and then have them do one on their own.
I have run through my lesson several times and with all of these examples my timing is bad. Can anyone offer suggestions.
p.s. - This is for secondary math.

I am not a math teacher but I have a copy of a friend's lesson plan and she is a math teacher. Let me know if you would like to see it for ideas.

What topic are you teaching? I teach 7th grade math part of the day.

I am teaching an 8th grade lesson, but it is Math A so they are in advanced math.
ETA: I have the lesson all written out, it's just too long. There is no way I am going to get through all of the examples. I just don't know what to cut out.
This is so nerve wracking !!!

it's always better to have more than less... the worst that can happen is that you finish your lesson and have nothing else to do!

I definitely know what you mean. I always try to have more examples, I am just scared that I am not going to get to enough examples that are challenging for the students.

I am not a math teacher, but I work with math students.
They love this site for K-12 Math Ed - it's really a policy site, but you might find some challenging questions. At the very least, it's an interesting read on Math Ed in the NYC schools.
