I have been teaching elementary for 3 years. I just got my masters and certification in special ed last summer, you do NOT have to student teach again, if you did it in undergrad!!

depends on the school... during my masters in spec ed I was a general ed teacher so I had to do a certain amount of hours in a special ed class (just did them during my prep or lunch periods)

Even though I was working at ELED..I still ahd to make time on my preps to go and observe a spec ed. class..and my professor did come to the school to observe a lesson.

I'm in a bind because I have a provisional elementary ed cert and a provisional special ed cert, and I am a school consultant and dont have a classroom - I have no idea how I'll get a permanent cert - if any one has any tips - please FM me!!!
