tell me how many months in advance did you send out your invites and why?
My wedding is Jan. 10, 2004, when should I send my out. Also when should I order them?

I'm sending mine out about 3 months in advance since the wedding falls on Labor Day weekend.

I sent mine out May 17.. wedding is August 9, 2003.. because I have responses with song selections and b/c FH and I need to know beforehand how many people are actually going to come. so really $$$$

We sent ours out 3 months before b/c the wedding was 12/15 (close to the holidays), to give people plenty of time for planning

We sent ours yestereday (5/27) for an 8/1 wedding. We wanted to get them out a week earlier but couldn't bc I am in a crunch at work and just finished a semester of grad school. This was my first opportunity to work on them.

I am hoping to get mine out the week of 6/9, wedding is 8/30. Our response date is 7/28, and we are hoping to get responses in early so that we can invite B list guests if we get declines.

7/8 for a 9/6 wedding. Maybe earlier. If I can get FH up off the couch long enough to hunt down his derelict friends and find out where they live these days.

We sent ours out about two months before the wedding. We wanted to give people a monthto RSVP and we needed to give a head count to the caterer a month before the wedding.
I would say they should be ordered at least 2 months before the day you plan to mail them. They can take anywhere from a week to a month to come in (generally) and you will need time to assemble and address them.
8-10 weeks is the norm, but if your wedding is on a holiday weekend, or in your case close to the holidays, you would want to send them earlier so people can make their arrangements.

we sent ours out a little less than three months before hand. The response date was around easter so we wanted to give a little extra time so people could send them in before they went away for the holiday.

I sent mine out in April with and Rsvp of june 1 Wedding is weekend of 4th july. So i wanted to get them out eary b/c of the holiday. I ordered them in March.

I sent my yesterday May 27th and wedding is August 17th (response date is July 10th). We need a head count for number of tables needed for (centerpieces) as well as finalizing the amount of favors needed. It also leaves time to contact anyone who didn't respond.

I sent mine out in March for my June wedding. I think that is considered early but we were getting marriend out east on a Friday night and wanted to give everyone enough time to plan accordingly.

I sent mine out in early Feb for 4/27. We had a lot of out of town guests and invites going internationally. I requested the RSVPs by 4/1.

I'm sending ours out in August for our October wedding. Haven't gotten them yet though...FH wants to make them!!! I'm going to a few places next week to look though, I really don't see the 'us making them' thing happening!
