Tell me what you know about Computer Associates, please!

Not for me (I'm not even in the computer field!), but I'd greatly appreciate it! THANKS!

I've heard they don't treat their employees too well. (Many ex-employees came over to work in my Co.)

Not sure on specifics though....this was about a year or so ago.

Ive also heard (when I was in the computer field and job hunting) that they work their employees to the bone, for minimal pay.

Im sure there are many HAPPY employees there as well. But this was the general 'talk' of CA.

My SIL used to work there, she said this is true (minus the pay issue) She said they paid well but because of this they felt they 'owned you'. She left after having her child b/c even though they promised reduced hours when she went P/T she was still working until 8pm or later!

My friend worked there and said the same thing. They expect you to work long hours and on salary

My fiancees friends sister is married to someone who is a manager there. He says the complete opposite of what everyone else is saying here. He loves his job and he loves the company.

I used to work at CA myself. And prior to accepting my position, I had heard all the rumors - good and bad. I didn't find CA to be any worse (in terms of overall treatment and experience) than any other company I have worked for. In fact, there were many wonderful perks that went hand-in-hand with my job.

The reality is, when you are a well paid, salaried executive, there is a certain level of committment and responsibility that is assumed - and as well they should be! JMO.

I have heard all the rumors also and know a few people that have worked there and yes they do work long hours, but what firm doesn't : ).

I interviewed there myself and I personally didn't think their salaries were competative. They offered me $15,000 less than what I'm making now and when I told them their offer was a joke they said no problem there is a line of people waiting for the job. I guess its all supply and demand.
