Tentative RSVPs

What is up with the people giving you tentative answers to your wedding RSVP? It's all people on my FH and FH's family's side of course! It just boggles my mind that people think the can say maybe to a formal affair as if it's a backyard bbq! The funniest one we got so far is that one of FH's dad's friends told us he'd like to come but isn't sure when his bike tour will end!! Sigh

oh man!! lol people actually put maybe on the response card?? dont they know maybe is not an option!! its either will attend, or will not attend!
well hopefully your dad's friends bike tour will end and he can make it to the wedding

Actually none of the tentative sent in their response cards even though they were due last week. This is just waht theyre telling FH when he calls them to find out their deal. My mom thinks that anyone who doesn't bother to send back the RSVP and is tentative at this point is probably a no but I wish they would just say so for sure if that's the case. UGH!!!!

We had four couples were still unsure if they could attend even 2 weeks AFTER our RSVP deadline.

I called them each and politely told them that my RH needed the final count of 'yes' people by that weekend and no changes could be made after that.

Miraculously, all 4 couples became a definite yes within 24 hours of that phone call. People have no sense of urgency or respect when it's not their event. They also feel that they're the ONLY ones who are late so what's the big deal? They don't realize it's not just them.
