I believe it was 90 on a friday. not to sure on a saturday. We didn't book w/them b/c the outside of the building looked like a mental ward and the 1 elevator they have looked like a wooden cofen, and I have heard that people have gotten stuck there. Their cocktail hr. is in the same room as the Ballroom, it's just divided by a curtain, but it seemed as if it would only fit 50 comfortably.

Re: Terrace on the Park

I am getting married at Terrace on the Park and I also just went to a wedding there this past weekend, and the hall is absolutely beautiful. I can't tell you what the price is because we are getting outside catering (kosher), but I think the cost per person without catering (but with full bar and wait staff) was $65 pp. The building isn't anything too special on the outside but it is elevated several stories above the ground with windows the full length of the side walls, offering beautiful views of Shea Stadium, the World's Fair Globe and Flushing Meadows Park. It is especially beautiful during and after sunset when you have a panoramic view of the lit-up New York skyline. They also have 6 elevators, not 1, and each of them was completely redone last month. I've been to 4 weddings there (including the one this week) and the cocktail hour was never in the same room as the main ballroom. Is it possible the previous poster mistook a side room for the main ballroom? On the main floor, there is actually cocktail room, and a room where they hold ceremonies for non-church weddings in addition to the main ballroom. There is also a penthouse floor with a garden. Not only can the main ballroom hold more than 50 comfortably, but the hall actaully has a minimum of 350 guests because the room is that gigantic. In all honesty, you CANNOT see from one side of the room to the other! The wedding this weekend had 500 guests and the room was hardly full. The reason we booked there in the first place is because they can accommodate the 400 guests we are expecting at our wedding. My FH and I are VERY excited to get married there, especially after seeing how beautiful my friend's wedding was this weekend. I recommend that you or your sister give them a call for pricing. The banquet manager, Mark, is very helpful and accommodating. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Re: Terrace on the Park

I went to a ton of weddings this year & looked into it. They quoted more PP...but that was including tax.

They have many different rooms. The penthouse has the CH (weather permitting) outdoors, overlooking the park, shea, and the city skyline....all at sunset. The view is one of the nicest I've seen. Then the reception is inside, but they keep the outdoors for desert.

The room they showed me (because my party was much smaller) was a small room, where cocktail hour would be on one tier & reception on another.

One of my friends had her cocktail hour in the room they showed me & her reception in another room.

I think they are very flexible in which room you have.

It's a pretty place with a VERY large range of flexible prices

1 elevator? Are you sure you are talking about the right place?!?

My dad's company has their holiday party there every year and it's beautiful. It was a place we had considered. The CH is in one room and the ballroom is gorgeous with beautiful views!

Pricing for winter weddings are really good (like someone else posted, I think it was around $65/person). I bet summer weddings are much higher though....

a word of caution. I went to see terrace on the park a few weeks ago and decided to not have my wedding there. But I have been getting non-stop phone calls and mailings from their vendors, so terrace on the park obviously gave away all of my contact info without my permission. I would be ok with it if I had actually booked the place, but it is just really annoying now!

This happens with most RHs.

TOTP was the first reception hall FH and I saw - we went to a bunch of places after and none compared! It just has this gorgeous elegant feel to it and we're having a fall reception so really looking forward to it - we're having outside catering as well - but i think without tax, gratuity, and add'l tip - they charged us $55 maybe for a saturday night - and that's w/o alcohol.

I am not from NY so before I went to Terrace on the Park I called them and asked for a ballpark figure for their walk in fee. The women told me a low,low price (high 30's) So when I was in NY to look at halls, I drove an hour and a half to go look at the hall. The banquet manager laughed in my face and said he didn't have any women working for him, so he had no idea where I got that price. Oh my god!! The receptionist there that day was a woman!!! I wasnt transferred when I called, so I must have spoken to a receptionist. It's not my fault that their receptionist misquoted, they should have stood by it. I was so upset, I felt like such an idot for dragging my FMIL out there...

Wow, I never looked into this place until recently after I booked WCC. I would have loved to have my Reception there, but I thought it would be way out of my price range!

Really? I haven't experienced that at all! I'm booked at Terrace on the Park but the only vendors who've been contacting me unsolicited are from this forum!

Re: Terrace on the Park

I am getting married at TOTP in November 08. Pricing depends on the room....The Penthouse is the most expensive ...it is a private floor with rooftop terrace and panaramoic view of nyc, unisphere, shea etc (saturday night about 150..thats inNov prob more in peak season) the cocktail can be on their roof top terrace (if you have penthouse) weather permitting if not it will be in one of their cockail rooms downstairs or a ballroom downstairs if available.

the rooms one level below Penthouse have beautiful views as well, although not panaramoic. they are also signifigantly cheaper..im not sure of prices bc once I saw penhouse I didnt want to know lol

the thing that sold me was the Penthouse view...it is so different..not cookie cutter catering hall at all.

i can see why some may be put off by the outside bc it isnt typical I guess it depends on your preference and priorites.

check it out for sure!
