Terrible Day.... *UPDATE*

Terrible Day.... *UPDATE*

#1 - my dress fitting went horrible..they didn't have my bra and didn't think they should call me - then they looked @ me like I was crazy when I told them to put sleeves on the dress - meanwhile we bought the dress under those terms only--it was so bad but that's nothing compared to this..

my fmil has lung cancer and she is back in the hospital and they are running tests but they think she is @ the real end........my FH is a mess and he wants us to have a small private wedding now and then a regular one on our set date - that way he can have his mother/son dance-

I want this all to end so much - I can't deal with the pain anymore and I can't take not being able to make my FH happy anymore.

Girls - Please pray really hard for this to all fall into place - I've never felt so bad in my life.

-----------***UPDATE***--------------

My mother in law's condition looks very bad- they have ran out of chemo options and they are saying that she may never regain movement in her legs so even if we have a small ceremony (which we've decided that we are) -- I don't see how she can dance w/my fh. Right now we are planning on September 9, 2007 --- but it can change at any point.

Our priest is very understanding and we are going to 'renew' our vows on November 10th.

This is so draining - I have spent 2 days and nights @ the hospital and you wouldn't believe the sad things I've seen.....It's truly torment.

Please pray that everything ends up okay - I'm so upset and scared right now and more than anything I wish I could ease my fh's pain - seeing him so distraught upsets me more than anything.

Thanks for all the love and support <3

I think havent a small ceremony for FMIL is sweet but I understand how overwhelming that must feel

Oh no Date Twin! I am so sorry to hear everything you are going through right now with your FMIL.

And if you ordered the bra from the dress place, I agree it was silly of them to call you for a fitting. It would be 1 thing if you were just going to see the dress, but how could you have a fitting without the undergarments?

Here are some hugs and prayers

Hang in there--take things one step at a time. The dress will be worked out--you have plenty of time. Take care of FH and FMIL, and of course, yourself! Focus on family right now. That's what this is all really about anyway, right?

oh sweetie

i hate to say this but i think your FH is right. if he wants a small wedding now, so his mother can enjoy it, and a larger wedding later, i think, if you can, you should do that. it will mean so much to him, and her, and i guarantee you will be grateful you did what he wanted.

and for you, FH and your family.

Re: Terrible Day....

DH's Mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor 4 months before our wedding and died only 6 weeks prior. Her condition got severe really fast, but I think she would have liked a small private ceremony, and looking back, I would have loved to give it to her.

Many for you and FH.

Re: Terrible Day....

I want to have a small private ceremony with our immediate families and then still go on with the wedding in November - I guess we would be renewing our vows but I think @ this point it is the best we can do and I AGREE - my FH needs this and he deserves to have this.

If we do go ahead with it - I am really going to need a lot of advice.....Thank you for all of the prayers and hugs..it means the world to me to know I can come here and vent after a long day.

I'm off to the hospital to see my fmil- please continue to send prayers this way because if I know anything - it's that everything is in God's hands!

Re: Terrible Day....

Sorry to hear about your FMIL. Def do the small wedding. I have a friend that was engaged and requested to have a small quick wedding so her father can be a part of it. The fiance didn't agree and wanted to a big thing. Anyway the dad died before any wedding happened. She's resented him ever since.
