just got the most terrible news and I am in shock...
One of my students (I left in FEB)...committed suicide last night. She is only 12 years old...Im sorry to be a debbie downer but I just dont even know what to say right now I am sick.. i feel terrible
So I spoke with some of the parents from my class and I also heard it on the news...
Apparently last night she wanted to see her friend and her father woudl not allow her to go bc she had work to do. She was mad at him and went in her room for the rest of the night. Well mom came home, who is btw a police officer, and found her daughter who hung herself in the closet. Some people do not believe this story but I dont know what to believe. She was a very happy child... had honestly the most stable life of all of the kids in my class... or so it seemed.
Girls.. thank you for your prayers and your kind words. I probably will be FM a few of you bc I think I need some advice. I am okay right now, but there are a lot of unsettled feelings around this for so many reasons and it may help to talk to some people who have been through this. So thank you all sooooo much...I really appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and kind words.

OMG that's so sad! I am teary right now. I can't imagine a 12 year old doing something like that- just heartbreaking. I am sorry for this loss!

Omg I am so sorry! I don't know why children do that. My best friend in High School committed suicide. He was only 17. It is a terrible way to die and a terrible way to leave those who love you behind. I am so sorry you are going through this. I really know what this is like, so if you need any help or anything, please just let me know. I am so terribly sorry.

wow, I'm really sorry to hear about this- I hope that the school will have the proper time to memorialize her life and support the students and staff- hang in there.

OH MY GOSH - so sorry to hear about this...only 12 years old? I'll be saying many prayers for her family and friends.
my heart goes out to all involved....when I was in 8th grade my best friend killed herself...its on my mind still everyday and i am gonna be 31....horrible tragedy

I am so sorry to hear that. That is such a tragedy. I have students that age too and I cannot even imagine how you must feel. My prayers are with her loved ones.

omg that's horrible at 12 years old! That is just so sad that poor girl. I had a friend kill himself at 23 and we all kept saying that was too young to end your life but 12??That's just crazy...my heart goes out to her family
