Thank you all so much.

Original post by springsandra

I read everyone's wonderful, helpful, and supportive reponses, and I looked some more and am starting to feel a bit better.

I think I will send an email to the photographer just to explain to him my feeling about some of the shots being a bit less than flattering, and hopefully the same thing won't happen on the wedding day. It's funny but most of the time I'm photographed, I make sure to look a certain way so it doesn't end up like this, but I didn't do that here.

Thank you all for helping me see the forest for the trees. It's so easy to get hung up in insecurities and self-doubt. I really am such a happy person, I need to make sure that takes center stage.

That's incredible!!!

I think I'm gonna go home and work on my arms every night for a while. Why not, right? It can't hurt.

Thank you thank you thank you all -- you gals are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Got our ephotos and now I feel more ugly and fat than ever

Aww honey... not every one can look good in every shot! Sure some of the pics aren't very flattering but there are so many that you look GORGEOUS in! Even models have to learn how to pose their body in a way that flatters their curves. You are so pretty and you have lost so much weight you should be proud of yourself! And if this is the motivation that it takes to get you into even better shape then so be it. But also remember how much your FH loves you and how beautiful he thinks you are and isn't his opinion what really counts?

I think its the pics itself. I hated my e pics just b/c they put us in all these awkward postions and when I saw them I thought I looked disgusting. Try not to worry about it, you are a beautiful girl and dont forget that

First of all I just want to say that I just looked at your epics and I think they came out great! You are adorable and should not be feeling bad about yourself! Losing 40lbs is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself! And you do not look like a sack of potatoes! Stop being so hard on yourself!! I think you need to take some bpics to get that confidence back up!

LOL def some b pics, Gail I wanna do it agian LOL

You look beautiful and NOOOO you do not look like a sack of potatoes!!!! I can totally understand where you are coming from because you lost 40 lbs which is a HUGE and wonderful accomplishment but you always see your former self when you look in the mirror i see my former 30 lb heavier self everyday so i know how you feel. Please be reassured that you are beautiful and that these imperfections we see are not real but just in our heads.

Re: Thank you all so much.

sandra! i'm so sorry i haven't been online enough lately. with the wedding a week away, i'm having a hard time having enough time to come on here and check in with everyone!

i didn't see your pictures but i don't need to! i can agree with all of the amazing and sweet and thoughtful girls that already posted. you are such an amazing girl - i know this just by the things you write and having met you and knowing the type of person you seem to be - so sweet and genuine and excited! you're a beautiful girl - inside and out - which is much more rare than you might realize!! i'm sure that you were simply glowing and show how much love you share with your FH. everyone has something about themselves they are too harsh and too critical over. you have done an amazing job of losing the weight that you have lost and i hope that you can remember all the positives changes you've made in yourself. that take a strong woman with character and vision. you look amazing and are going to take his breathe away!

i burst into tears when i saw my e-pics.i HATED them. not because of the photographer, but because i couldn't see me without being completely harsh and mean to myself. but then i began to realize that the pictures are meant to capture a moment in your life - that special time - the space between before the marriage but after the engagement...the moments when you're filled with nervous, excited, happy, blissful, scared...all the human things we share. look and see if you can't see the connection you share with your FH and the love that radiates out of you both.

sure you can whatever you want to make yourself feel better in terms of body image, but in the very least, acknowledge all that you've done already and how beautiful you are, just the way you are!!

FM me anytime you need to chat :o)

I didn't see what you originally said, but I can imagine from the responses. Meeting you, you were just as positive and sunny and beautiful as you come across online, so don't you worry about anything at all!

Re: Thank you all so much.

I didn't see this post until it was pretty late as I have been busy this morning and I'd love to tell you that you're beautiful and smart and sweet and wonderful just as everyone else has but everyone else already has
So I'm going to point out a few things from a different viewpoint (and probably piss off anyone using him) I dislike your photographer and if you aren't happy with the pics, I'd ask for a reshoot. Doesn't look like delivered that many finished photos to you anyway but I HATE HATE HATE that he shot these with ambient light being what it was, translation-the sun was in the wrong spot. Some of the photos are way too blown out in my opinion and the white balance is off which is going to make you say things like 'my forehead looks too big' yeah...cause the sun is bouncing off of it now. Also, he didn't really shoot you at flattering angles...I dunno I just don't think this is a bone to pick with yourself but I'd ask the photographer to even do a twenty minute reshoot while your FH is still visiting and just tell him the sun was too bright.
