I am writing a Thank You at the end of my program and I would like to make some reference to the people who have passed away. Anyone have any ideas?

And I thought you were going to have an idea for me...
I don't think I'm going to get any responses on this one!

Re: Thanking the Dead People
There are quite a few people on here who are doing this. I know Lizlen for sure is.
You could do something like:
In Memory of at the bottom of the program and list who the person is and their relationship to you.

Re: Thanking the Dead People
I really don't want to put specific names. I feel that this would make it too sad. My best friend died 11 years ago and I don't want her parents to see her name on there...it would be too sad. I just want to make reference to those who are no longer with us.
We Remember: The loving memory of John’s father, Jean Augustus F.
And the loving memory of our grandparents: William and Martha S, Earle and Josephine E, and Simun C.

I like Danigirl's suggestion...you could do a variation of that, leaving out the names if you desire.

Re: Thanking the Dead People
we just said something like: we would like to thank all our friends and loved ones who could not be here today but who are here with us in spirit. we love you.' (or something like that). but i like the 'In loving memory' too.

In memory of all those who are here in spirit and who helped lead us to this very special day...

Re: Thanking the Dead People
I am thinking of writing something like this in our programs: Our departed loved ones walk with us today, and though they are not here in body, they are with us in spirit. We would like to specifically celebrate in memory of our grandparents (names here).

We are putting a reference to my FI grandfather on the flowers placed at the altar and the Blessed Mother.

Re: Thanking the Dead People
I'm not mentioning anyone who's passed away in my programs, but I did make a Memory Candle for our grandparents.
It's a light blue pillar candle, and I used special decal paper to put their names on it. It says:
In Honor and Loving Memory of Our Grandparents...
names
You are with us in our hearts, Today and Always.
It will be placed on the sign-in table. Simple, subtle, but a way to honor and acknowledge them.
