How many of you, while dress shopping, had that 'oh my god' moment when you found 'the dress'??
I think I'm waiting for that moment and it's not happening... I'm frustrated and don't want this to go on forever!!! It's so hard and I have no idea what I want -- everything I THINK I will like, I hate!!! so I'm totally outside of the box and I just can't SEE it yet!!!!
How many times did you shop before you found 'it'??

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
It was one of the first dresses I tried on.
I tried on maybe 10 dresses, narrowed it down to 3.
Tried on those 3 another day.
And my front-runner because 'THE' dress.
But my dress was nothing like what I thought I'd get. So try on some that you don't picture yourself in at all.
I knew it was my dress when I got all weepy at the thought that my grandmas wouldn't be there to see me in it.

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
I was skeptical about that 'yes' moment. I must have tried on 50 dresses within 3 stores before I got that feeling. My mom and sister got it on like the 8th dress I tried on but I wasn't completely loving the dress.
Finally the last dress I put on - I got that feeling in the pit of my stomach (even though my mom and sister didn't). I slept on it and went back the next day to try it back on again. It was the only dress that I said 'I love it' and didn't want to try on anything else.
It'll come when it's the right dress....just keep trying!

I never had that moment - I don't think everyone does.

I was at my 4th appt. when I tried on the 1st dress in that store....and fell in love! I had the complete 'yes' moment and haven't had any doubts since then.
You will feel something when it's the right dress! Don't give up!!

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
honestly, i only had the 'yes' moment after my mom and family friend were raving about how awesome i looked ... then i looked at myself in the mirror and said 'yes, ok' lol
it was the 3rd dress i tried ... i tried a few more after it but just didn't like them anywhere as much as 'the' dress.
ps: this dress is one that i thought i'd HATE when i saw it on the hanger... and all the dresses i thought i'd love were awful on me

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
My dress was the last one at the 3rd store but I went back 6 different times to confirm it was THE dress before I ordered it. I tried on about 40-50 dresses.

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
I didn't have that - I ended up getting a dress that was nothing like I thought I would get. My sister and mother went crazy over the dress and absolutely loved it. It took me a few weeks to get my mind around the fact that the dress was different than what I thought I was going to get.
I actually did get that feeling when I went back a couple of months later to get measured

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
I had that feeling with the first dress I tried on. I went to other stores after that and tried on many different styles but I just kept thinking of that one. I went back the next month and got that feeling again when I tried it on. I ended up ordering it that day.

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
I don't remember if I had a 'yes' moment when I tried on the dress, but I know I did have a 'moment' when I saw it on the rack at the salon. I had previously tried on a few dresses at a local salon, and went back over the weekend to try on the one I liked the best and put the order in for it. When I was there, I decided to look around a bit while my mom and the owner talked (my mom used to work nearby the shop, so they knew each other). And while I was looking through the dresses, I found this one dress that I had been in love with that I had seen in magazines like months earlier, but had totally forgotten about by the time I physically went shopping. The store owner noticed me gazing at the dress, and explained that she had lent it to another bridal salon and just got it back. I was so excited to see it in person and couldn't wait to try it on and compare to the other dress. There was no comparison and I got the new dress. I was so happy I didn't buy the other dress on the spot and decided to wait a week to come back to order. I guess my dress was waiting for me to come back.

-I agree!! I didn't have the 'yes' moment but everyone in the salon had it for me..... they basically said if you don't get that dress your a fool.... these were the mothers of other brides, not even the ladies who worked there..... or did they lol!

Re: that 'yes' moment...........
No yes moment here. Oddly, although I am a 'girly' type girl, I HATE wedding gowns. I don't want to look like a Barbie doll or a Princess and I didn't want to be too trendy either (for regrets years down the road). I wanted a sophisticated and elegant dress and it was nearly impossible to find. So I just went with something simple. I knew I wouldn't regret doing too little but I would regret doing too much. As much as I'm looking forward to the wedding, I can't wait until it's over and I never have to look at a wedding dress again! And yes, I've been given a nickname. I'm not Bridezilla I'm Scroogebride.
