Re: Thatched Cottage????
I don't remember the exact price we were quoted there, but just in terms of it in person, it seemed a little run down and worn around the edges to me. I had heard a rumor somewhere that they were renovating... I would say if that's true go for it, because the place definitely has a lot of charm, but it just felt a little too run down for me to pay all that money for it, since the prices weren't too much better than some other places I looked at.It's got a great location though, so if they're at least repainting and such, then it's definitely worth a look. The folks there seemed really nice as well. My brother's Bar Mitzvah was there years ago, so I have a soft spot for the place (and they remember us too... just ask them about the Bar Mitzvah years ago with the dinosaurs... the bm I met with remembered us vividly), so I was a little disappointed to see it looking so worn out.

WOW you are so wrong. Run down my butt!!! It is gorgeous.. I'm guessing at the time you looked they may have been under going some construction.. They have a brand new floor in the lobby, brand new mirrors in the main reception hall room, and please tell me where you can find prettier gardens and gorgeous views of the bay? The people there are SOOO friendly and easy to work with. I have heard from several people that the food is excellent and they put up a great wedding. In regard to the menu and service, i have not seen a place that can compare -- with the exception of Westbury Manor.. Sorry if i sounded nasty - but there are people getting married at the Thatched who Love it.. We went there on Sunday April 2, right before a wedding, and fell in love with it all over again.. The sun was shining, the swans were swimming..

Re: Thatched Cottage????
I went ot a wedding there two years ago, and it was lovely. the food was awesome, and the cocktail hour was outside right on the bay, so the views were stunning.

i agree, sorry JMO but i have to say i do see weddingbunny's point here... from the last time i saw the place that is, maybe it changed since then. it does have an awful lot of charm and a great location-- just needs a little TLC, sorry again JMO.
