Thatched Cottage
Hi everyone, I am new here and I am hoping I can get some great insight! I am about 99.9% sure I want to book The Thatched Cottage for my ceremony and reception. My FH and I really LOVE it! And I feel it is the exact feel I want for fall! I read a few great reviews on here, but many of them are over 6 or 7 years old. I was wondering if anyone has had their own wedding there or attended one within the last year.ALSO...I am having a November wedding and I really want to get married outside under the willow tree. I am just concerned with the weather (Nov 3.) is iffy! And I am not thrilled with there indoor space. Ughh PLEASE HELP!
THANK YOU! :)

I had that problem when I first booked as well, for some reason super old threads pop up when you search on here. There are a few newer TC brides on here though! 1 2012-er, 2 2013-ers and quite a few 2014 brides, which is exciting!
I am booked for May 31st of this year at TC and although I have yet to have my wedding there, I would give nothing but raves at this point!
Every one has been super friendly & nice and accommodating, whenever we have met with the staff. The rooms and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL and the food is delicious!!!
We booked October 2011 and had our tasting that night... they set us and our parents up in the main ballroom and gave us food after food after food & drinks! It was great! The amount of food for the cocktail hour and choices for the main meals is astounding.
I actually just stopped by this past Saturday to get my direction cards for my invites and every one was awesome! Terrance the BM remembered us from when we visited in May.
As far as getting married outside, I'm actually getting married at a church, so I'm not sure what they particularly do in November.... although I have to say I usually think of early November as pretty mild weather anyway... so I can't see that being TOO much of a problem, ya know?

Thank you! I will have to look in those years! I am not really sure how to navigate this site fully yet! I am so impressed as well with the Thatched Cottage. Maureen, the Sales Manager, is so amazing! It's great to hear that your in progress planning is going so well with them. :)I looked at three other Halls and I feel like this is the one! I also feel like if I look at too many places, I will not be able to choose! This is it :) Thank you again for your help!

You're welcome! I've learned that when you can feel that it's the one, it IS the one. Thatched Cottage was only the 2nd place we looked at (although the first place we looked at, we just went to a bridal showcase there... didn't get a full tour)... so this was our first official meeting at a RH and we just knew right away. It blew us away and Maureen is absolutely WONDERFUL!!
Good luck with every thing!!

I totally agree! I'm booked for May of 2014 and have nothing but positive things to say! I love that they're one wedding at a time and everytime I went there, my family and I were treated like family. Any interaction I had with Maureen has always been great and she's been so helpful! I also felt like I got the most bang for my buck there in terms of food and how much is offered to guests.
I'm having my ceremony there, but regardless of weather I'll have to have it indoors for religious reasons. I'm a little bummed because I LOVE the willow tree, but I personally didn't mind their indoor space because the view is still there. It's actually better than a lot of other indoor spaces I've seen as many other places I checked out didn't have windows in their indoor ceremony space at all! I'm pretty sure outdoors won't be a problem for you as long as the weather permits. I think I remember Maureen saying I could tell them up to an hour before the ceremony was supposed to start if I wanted indoor or outdoor. Double check that with her. Good luck!

Re: Thatched Cottage
YES! Maureen told us that as well! The indoor space had some fixing it needed so the room was filled with boxes and other things. So I really couldn't get the whole affect! I am sure it is beautiful when it is all done up! I really hope the outdoor works out, I think it will!

Thatched Cottage
My wedding was there in April 2012 and like the other brides have said, any and all interactions with TC were amazing. They were generous with their time and ideas; they were gentle with my daughters (my daughters picked out the design and flavor of our cake as a surprise for us). The food was absolutely amazing and I could not be happier with the presentation of all the food stations (we had a cocktail and dessert reception) - everything looked beautiful. It was wonderful to get married under the Willow Tree and I was so glad that it was so beautiful on our day but I do think indoors will be just as pretty. I do not think you could wrong with TC. Good Luck!!
