The Bates House in East Setauket

Hi guys!
I'm really new at this and I have a question! I'm seeing that people are talking about doing a wedding at the Bates House if you're looking to DIY and save some money.
Has anyone had a reception here? I know you have to bring in all of your own vendors and I feel like it could add up quickly! Is anyone able to give me some pointers or an idea of how much the wedding ended up being?
Thank you so very much! :)

Im not sure specifically, but a lot of times when you do a blank canvas venue (meaning you are bringing everything in) it ends up being at least the cost of having it at a hall etc

Bates house is beautiful....my friend got married there and it was a really nice reception. She did say during her planning exactly what you wrote above....she thought it would be less and when all the vendors started adding up it ended up being a lot more than she expected. She also had to worry about things that a hall would normally take care of. Hope this helps!

If you want to go this route, I'd definitely suggest a wedding planner. There's just so many little details that go into a wedding that you don't realize the catering hall takes care of.

If you do choose this route, make sure you have a lot of time to spare and a lot of extra hands to help! I second the wedding planner.
