It seems so romantic. I got a price quota for it at $200. Is that reasonable? I really have no idea how pricing on flowers go so I would love some advice. I was told the centerpiece is 4 feet tall. Initially, I was thinking about going w/ the feather centerpieces, but I found this on the board and was taken back.WOW.

Do you ladies think it looks to much like a Christmas centerpiece?

Where would you put the callas? I think one or the other but not together. That will look very nice at the Sandcastle!

Well-- I think there are a lot of factors to determine if this is an appropriate CP..

When is your e-party? If it is in winter- I think this is great.. I really like the look of.

How many people are you having at your e-party? And where is it??

I think a 4 foot tall CP may be a bit for an e-party- but, hey it's your party.. I would also be worried about being too elaborate as compared to your wedding- people always will compare. Maybe you can do a scaled down version of it.

I personally think its too much for an e-party, although i dont really like it for a wedding either, but that isnt really my style.

I think IF YOU LIKE IT, DO IT!! what ever is going to make you happy !!! this is all about YOU and your FH!!

congratulations, btw!!

My e-party is in May of 2005 at the SandCastle in the skylight room and I'm having around 110 people (hopefully, trying to keep it just family). It does look a lot more like a winter-feel centerpiece the more and more I look at it. I asked the florist if she could make me a sample just so I have an idea in person on how it really looks. But, your right, I definitely don't want my e-party centerpieces to look better than my centerpieces for when I get married. Thanks for your suggestion. When I see the florist I'm going to take a pic and post it here.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. What kind of centerpieces would you suggest for an e-party in the month of May. When I go see the florist I'm going to see whether I give them a more spring look.

I am not familiar with your venue- but for that time- and since it is an e-party.. I think something simple.. like vases with a bunch of single color tulips or something.

If you are looking for height- maybe some gladiolas-- they are so pretty and very summer/spring like.

And tulips-- so classic and pretty as well.

I just did a google search to see how the gladiolas look (don't know flowers very well by name)....but, they are gorgeous...this is a pic I found. Maybe I will put gladiolas in instead of branches....you think they would be more expensive?

WOW! I think the c-piece is a little too elaborate...how would you be able to outdo that for you actual wedding??

Wow, my e-partty was small with balloons for decorations too!!

i love gladiolas better then callas personality thats what i had for my bouquet. i think pastel color gladiolas in clear glass vases would look great for a may engagement party i think the other centerpiece is beautiful but more for a winter wedding.

For a May e-party, I would definitely recommend Tulips in a pretty vase with a beautiful full organza bow tied around the vase. Very Springy!! I think the other one you like is a bit too wintery. Maybe you could use that for your wedding if it is in fall or winter!!

Re: The centerpiece for my e-party. Tell me what you think?

I think if you used high kinda skinny vases.. you would only need a couple in each-- like two to three-- they are simple and pretty enough without needing a dozen to look full- esp. with their height. My mom has them in her house all the time like this and it looks so simple and pretty--

I cannot imagine it would be too expensive- I really have no idea.. But, aside from renting the vases- it should really not be more than 20 bucks per-- if that much.

If you are doing something simple like that- it may be easier to take care of it on your own-- we are going to do this for our RD-- get relatively low cost vases-- Ikea has a lot-- then get the flowers ourselves from the flower shop. Then you can let people take home the vases if they want. I'm all for hiring a florist when you need to-- but I think it is relatively easy and much less money to do it yourself- I am spending too much money everywhere else!
